    Dressing cut aluminiuminumiun

IMHO, nothing beats clean machine marks, but since you aren't milling... Sandpaper works just fine. What grit to start with depends on how rough your cut is. Somewhere between 80 and 180 should work. Go up to about 600 for a brushed metal look, or you could keep sanding to 2000, and then use...

    Building saddlebags?

I've built some fiberglass speaker boxes in years past, I can't imagine it's any different than most other composites work. What do you need to know? Google some of the articles the kids write about building fiberglass speaker enclosures, or boat repair.

    Melting plastic on instrument cluster

Just for the record, I've had this happen with my stock '03 and the Yamaha accessory shields. In both instances, I had the auto-retract disabled, but I've started parking my bike with the nose facing not-southerly, and no more problems. I don't know if it's possible for this problem to occur...

    Hanging Off

You would recognize it by another classification of get-offs, "dragging hard pards." There are plenty of those to be found in the statistics.

    PDX Christmastime dinner

Busters busters busters.... What is it with you guys and this texas "bbq" stuff? Ya'll need some good southern pig up here in the northwest. Maybe the restaurant that marcusorelius's sister owns in Oregon City? I have it on good 3rd party information that it's got great Italian. Just sayin'...

    PDX Christmastime dinner

Is anyone putting on a PDX area dinner this year? If no one has set one up, and there are enough interested parties, I'd be happy to call some restaurants and make a reservation. How many are interested, and how does next Tuesday night sound?

    Questions about taps and dies

I use taps a lot for motorcycles, a lot. The M3-M12 covered by that Irwin set will do about every standard fastener in a metric motorcycle. Looks like it covers coarse and fine threads too, but I didn't see a detailed description and didn't go looking. This may not cover some of the larger...

    Renting a bike in Hawaii

I had a good experience when I rented a BMW from Chris @ big kahuna rentals in Waikiki. Super nice guy and no problems with the bike. Just stay out of the Honolulu rush hour.

Haven't been around too much lately, here's why!

Some of you may know that I build basses as a hobby. My younger brother is a guitar player, and for the last several years I've been working on a very special guitar for him. A few months ago, my brother spent several weeks in the hospital with inflamation in sections of his brain and spinal...

    EOM Tires

Better bet is Ken's Cycle Center It's near impossible to get them on the phone, cause they are always busy. They are a good shop though, better than Jim's IMHO.
