One other thing i forgot. On the scoot, alot of times you can smell hot rubber. That should be your first clue there is one getting ready to blow. It is not 100%, sometimes they just blow with no warning. Alot of times you end up jerking the wheel because it sounds like a gunshot and scares...
I drive a big rig for a living. I have had tires blown very violently over the years. In addition to the rubber, it usually tears off the mud flap bracket which is a solid piece of angle iron, probably 5-10 pounds. it can tear off pieces of the underside of the trailer as well. Also...
how many miles can i expect to get out of the Metzler Z6's that came on the bike when it was new. Right now i got a little over 7000 on them and the rear still looks pretty good.
got good riding gear. motoport for now, would like to upgrade to Stitch when this wears out. news brain bucket. Maybe some good boots, , but that's about all i need gear wise. Got me a nice rainsuit it Daytona, just what we need in Ga in a drought right?
my highway pegs go in the same hole as the sliders. I got the ones from sampson sport touring. Maybe could go with the sliders, then swap out before a long trip, or maybe to much work.
I am selling my hunting stuff, figured nice fall days will now be spent on the FJR in the N ga mountains. Question is, I'm not sure what is a good farkle and what would be considered a waste of money. I like taking trips, weekend rides, and alot of commuting. So far i have added, highway pegs...
this was my first bike week, so i don't have much to compare to. A couple of my buddies have been to alot of them, and their take on it was things have gotten so spread out. Said everything used to be in Daytona, and you couldn't move, now you have Destination Daytona, up at Ormond Beach...
so far i have tried the 2 ads in the back of Cycle World, i think pipecity.com and starcity.com The cheapest so far for the 2 Bros slip ons is Pipecity at $604 with free shipping. Does anybody know of any place cheaper? Thanks for any suggestions.
i think i am going to go with the 2bros slip on for my 07. Does a PCIII make a difference or is it necessary? I am running everything stock right now, and i average 40+ mpg commuting to work. The bike is plenty fast for me and has more than enough horsepower. Or with new exhaust, do you have...
I found a feej in Daytona the other day, he had the 2 bros and they sounded sweet in person. Not shrill, but deep, muscular, and LOUD. so far I am leaning to 2 Bros, but i want to hear some holesots at the next Ga riders group meeting.
I would go with the A and the black cherry, but that is what is in the driveway, so i might be biased. The St's sound funny to me when they are running,I don't care for the noise. Just washed mine today, and the black cherry sure does look good sparkling in the sunlight. my $.02
I've noticed alot of Aussies on this board. Do they get a kangaroo next to their crash club symbol like we get one for hitting a deer in the signature line? send the bike as luggage, take off the bags for your carry on, problem solved.
I think it was Friday afternoon on I-10 in Florida. It sure did look like a Feej blurring the other way. The local dealers still don't have one in black to see in person. Bike really looked sharp across the grass.
I love watching my Dawgs play, or any other good college game, but since getting my FJR, there is a huge conflict of interest on those beautiful fall afternoons when the mountains are waiting and my black cherry horse keeps calling my name. I think the darn thing is possessed. i hear my name...
