    IBA In State Rides

My SS1000 on the HDT M1030-M1 was an in-state Oregon ride. The route is half interstate, half state highway and is about as easy as a 1000-mile day can be.

how to lift fjr for maintenance

One of the first things I did went I bought my FJR in 2006. Incredibly useful. Takes up no room while stored. Use it to this day.

Does anyone ride between 6-7k rpm's?

We're not worthy! We're not worthy!

Gen 3 dash - Last Call

After 18 years of riding Gen 1 bikes, could this be the beginning of something new? I've emailed Scott with my interest.

    My Russell Day Long

Agreed. When riding my FJR like a sportbike, the RDL's wings get in the way. You CAN learn to try to work around them, but it's not ideal. However, I rode 900 miles from Alamo, Nevada to Monmouth, Oregon yesterday. Not once did I think about my butt. My 16 year old RDL just keeps working.

Gen 1 valve clearance check info/help

Sounds like a candidate for the Hopeless Class in the 2029 Iron Butt Rally. The bike will be over 25 years old and I think it will be eligible!

FJR in the Barber Motorsports museum ?

I was there 15 years ago. Even then the place was full. I don't know where they might display additional bikes. From the website: BVMM will not take custody of or become responsible for property that does not satisfy all aspects of the following acquisition conditions: ...2. Display of...

    FJR TECH.COM

My first FJR would have never happened except for Warchild and the information on FJR Tech. There was nothing unique about my bike. I built it practically step by step from information on that site. For me, it too was invaluable.

    RAT 48 Insanity Gold

Ya know, I'm desperately trying to give up the money-sucking hobby that is long-distance riding. Then you go and post something like this. A ride around the US, as close to the perimeter as you could route, sounds like a lot of fun.

If you wind up parting things out, I'd like to talk to you about the LindaT tank bag system.

    IBR 2023 registration

It's my understanding that Kneebone always wanted the IBR to run in June to maximize the number of daylight hours. With the fiscal year for the City of Chicago ending on June 30, this was never an option until he retired. IIRC, the IBR has run in June since 2013.

Hang around a while, Mr. Greene. There's a few more of us. Calling SkooterG!

    Garmin Zumo discount

There's no provision for audio out via a hard wire. It's Bluetooth only. I suppose this is no big deal for most people. With a phone jack (audio out) I could connect my ear buds directly to the GPS without the need for a Sena or other helmet mounted communication. No can do with the XT.

    Garmin Zumo discount

Last year I retired my 550 and replaced it with the XT. It's blazing fast and I like it. I do miss that fact that it's wireless only. No provision for hard wiring. I'm also streaming a lot on my phone since there's also no provision for the ole XM antenna. Wow. I'm just an old man.

    helmet speakers

My ear monitors didn't block any more noise than ear plugs; about 25 db. I always turned the music down in town where I felt I needed to hear my environment. At freeway speeds its hard to hear over the wind anyway.
