    Help!

I had a stubborn filter once. The best tool I found in the end was a rubber strap wrench. It worked really well for the job. Kolbalt brand fwiw. Apparently available at your local Lowes.

    Sandwiched Bike

This can't be true. It would imply she noticed the motorcyclist.

    Vendor report

Box from Mondak showed up today. It includes a Yamaha mesh jacket, several Tshirt, mini flash lights, a couple of oil filters and a pocket multi-tool.

New car sucks compared to FJR!

This topic is *WAY* too political and not at all motorcycle related. Keep it on topic or to yourself. The word "government" is spelled government.

    Vendor report

Yamaha is still a no-contact at this point. Jennifer was supposed to be on Monday (yesterday), and today she's supposed to be back now at the end of this week. No one else is apparently able to handle these questions. Correct, updated with details I know at this time. That's fine with me...

    PDX to WFO?

Trying to avoid shipping door prizes around. Is anyone headed to WFO from or through the PDX area, and could offer some space to carry door prizes? Not sure how much room will be required yet, but hoping it's more than I can pack on the bike.

    Vendor report

Updates from today: Mondak Motorsports: sending a box of goodies Muzzy's: Donating something, not sure what yet. At EOM '06 they sent a full slip on system. Yamaha: Finally said the right words to get through the receptionist. Not sure what they were. I got into Jennifer's voice mail, but...

    My new 5 string bass

I'm actually just about to finish up another guitar. The lacquer is on, and should be ready to polish about the time I get back from WFO.

    Micro-Breweries in JoCy, TN

They had some new dodge chargers just before I left. Those were TSHP vehicles, not the city or county guys. They still have jurisdiction on I-26 though.

    Sticky string or Slime

And speaking from personal experience, avoid any of the sticky string tools that are straight, like a screw driver. These are incredibly difficult to use compared with the T-handle style.

    Vendor report

So far not so good. A lot of the vendors I've contacted have either said no, or not responded at all. These include vendors who have supported WFO in the past, as well as vendors I worked with for EOM. I've also been too busy to put as much time and effort as I would have liked. Very...

    Yamaha Contact

I called the marketing department that I had previously spoken with for EOM, and the receptionist gave me a blanket "we're not doing sponsorships" without letting me talk with anyone. Does anyone have a specific contact a Yamaha who they've dealt with for regional gatherings?

    Really Really Hot '03 Question

I've measured the frame rails on my '03 at 175f on a very hot day. Without before and after measurements, it's hard to draw conclusions. If the engine temp indicator isn't running high, then I would makes sure all the "tin foil" stuff under the tank is well arranged. It could be missing all...

    source for junked parts

I can just about guarundamnteeyou that the connector on the ECU is from Sumitomo. Good luck dealing with the USA arm of the company, and even more luck dealing with the Japanese arm for one sample... Examine the connector, and the mate on the wiring harness for a micro small logo in the...

Vision X XMitter LED light bar

I held my tongue(or is it fingers) with the first post. I've seen and played with some high-power LED's before. I build the electronics for with LEDs. It used several 10w elements for each drum. There was a total of 260w of white LEDs in the kit. I've also played with LEDs for motorcycle...

Vision X XMitter LED light bar

A typical "35 watt HID light" consumes about 42 watts to power the ballast, and the 35 watts is what the ballast outputs to the lamp. Each of those LED modules consumes 3 watts of power. Depending on the size of the system you want to build, used the X button on the calculator. They also have...

    ABS "fail safe" Mode

There's something missing in the story. There are 4 attachment points for the front fender. The two large headed allen bolts at the front are obvious. There are also two bolts and nuts towards the rear. If these were loose, and coming out, it's possible for the bolt or nut to bind in the...
