I think it is a known problem. I'd return them and try a different pair.

I had an 04 KLR and found it to be the most uncomfortable bike I'd ever ridden. Seat was like a brick and the engine vibes could loosen teeth. I put a Corbin on which helped a very little. Your price (5300) seems high as there are places that heavily discount them. I would look at a Versys...

The Tourmaster vest is toasty. It is actually to warm at times on the high setting.
