one-piece suit (for a fat guy)

I hope you don't think I'm trying to get down on you...I'm no skinny MeLink myself--5'10" 213lbs and, according to BMI (which is basically crap) I should be no more than 165! You'd think with all the guys with REAL money to buy expensive bikes being older, the bike clothing companies would make...

what goes thru your mind at the sound of screeching tires?

"Oh, ****! This is REALLY gonna hurt!" :dribble:

one-piece suit (for a fat guy)

Just remember, guys are cruel. If you ask "Does this one-piece make me look fat?" you KNOW what the answer will be! Stay away from spandex...... :yahoo:

What's your most embarrassing moment ???

It's gotta be when I asked a friend if she was pregnant and she said "No! I'm just getting fat!" That's gotta be 27 years ago and I remember my face getting beet red like it was yesterday. I did learn from that--I've NEVER asked any woman (who was not my wife) that question...

Looking for opinions for a GOOD Dealer mechanic in NJ

Over the years I've had pretty good service from Hanover Honda. They never messed anything up.

June 2009 Catskills and Adirondacks ride

Ah, I wish I could join youse guys. It's not too far for me to get there. But I simply cannot get away next weekend. My wife is teaching a seminar at Columbia on Saturday so I'm with the kids. I hope you all ride safe! I hope to hear you all had a great time and NOBODY went down!

thinking of trading FJR for fz1

I, too, have a G1 FZ1 ('02) and a G1 FJR ('04) and they are two of the best bikes in the world. I liked the FZ1 the moment I sat on it, but I've never found the G2 to have any appeal for me--it throws you forward so all your weight is on your wrists and has a gallon less fuel. Frankly, if I...

How the H*%l do you remove LT screws?

Sounds like my life with my 81 Maxim 650 and the exhaust studs. They'd shear flush with the head. I'd drill and try an easy-out which would then snap in the hole. I had to drill all around it to ge it out, then drill a bigger hole for what's called a "dutchman"--a bolt screwed in the bigger...

Tour master vs first gear heated jacket?

Why have you rejected Gerbings? They make absolutely superb jacket liners, pants and pants liners, even socks and gloves. Plus they stand behind their product amazingly well. All the pieces interconnect as well so you only have one plug. But they are pricey.

    Summer jacket recommendations?

I've got an older Joe Rocket mesh that's got perforated leather on the shoulders and elbows, all the way from the outside of the wrists up and across, to provide some protection. My perforated leather Olympia is only good to about 80 degrees, but it is DEFINITELY crash-tested.

Deal or No Deal? Opinions appreciated

Looks like a great price on a great bike. Sounds alot like my '04 FJR. I wired in switched and unswitched outlets, and have under-grip heaters, which let you use any grip you like. About the only thing I didn't notice were cans and a PCIII! If you don't like the DayLong, I'd like to see if...

My first long trip on the Feej

Thanks! I had a custom Russell made for my FZ1 and it was both a terrible disappointment and a waste of money. It shoved me too far forward, into the tank and on to my arms and wrists, plus the bike is harder to control. It's just too short from front to back for the driver. I sent it back...

I hope you'll be happy for many, many years, long after all our wise-cracks have dried up and blown away! :D

    Phukkin' Harley Dudes

Clearly rightly so! I came across a couple of these clowns on SR 513 off Rt 23 in NJ (a nice road for a short ride). I didn't even flash at them and they kept moving to keep me from passing. Since I was in no hurry, I just took another route. I figure I never know when one of these...

My first long trip on the Feej

Nice story. That's a beautiful part of the country. Your dad doesn't look old to me--I'm 53 though. What kind of after market seat do you have and how do you like it?

Ladies, germs, odots and everything in between... Introducing....

Congratulations to you, and best wishes to the lady with a GREAT sense of humor (since she has perfect vision! :yahoo: ) August will be 22 years married, 24 together. SHE is still drop-dead gorgeous, but I got heavier and older and greyer... Luckily she's got not-so-great vision...

    BMW..... *sigh*

Is that why they call it a "Night Rod"?

    BMW..... *sigh*

It's Mad-Eye Moody! If anyone thinks this bike looks OK, well, they are entitled to their opinion. But if they recommend movies or restaurants or beer, I'm not going to "enjoy" them either!

    BMW..... *sigh*

More like a beat-down! On one side it looks vaguely like a Triumph bug-eye, on the other like an FZ1. It better run faster than a Busa, handle better than an R1 and tour better than a 'Wing to be THAT f-unly.

FJR first bike out of 6 I ever dropped!!

FIrst tip-over in 6 bikes? I've tipped EVERY bike I've had over at least once. The FJR had 700 miles on it, I was at the end of my driveway, just starting out on a trip up to Lake George...and over I went... :dribble: Tip-overs don't count as crashes, though..."Oh, no, the shoulder don't...
