    Iowa Hawkeyes

And I'm a Tarheel fan--I love it when they beat ANY team, but Mid West teams especially! (Except Northwestern, of course) I was there and saw the 1982 championship team play several times, with Sam Perkins, James Worthy, and an insanely talented freshman named.....you know who....

We're talking UNC vs Clemson. No WAY I'm pulling for Clemson to beat the 'Heels! (though they'll probably shellac them... ) And the ONLY Big 10 school I'll pull for against the ACC is Northwestern (excepting UNC of course). I gotta admit, calling the "Big 10" the "Big 10" because it's always...

    Survey: What's under your seat?

Got the flashlight and Leatherman, as well as spare fuses and paperwork. Love the idea of a $20 or two. Trying to figure out which Slime pump (new name to me) but is it this one...

Holy Crap my A$$ is killing me

I put a Wilbers remote reservoir shock on the FJR years ago during one of the group buys and never looked back. Just wondering: Where can you ride all day long at 125mph in the US or Canada????

Holy Crap my A$$ is killing me

Yeah, Corbin says it takes 1000-1500 miles to break in. I took it down to the Dragon and back, 800 miles each way. And I was miserable on that seat the entire time. I was miserable after, miserable until pulled it off, never to grace my bike again. Rocks don't break in. I did smile about...

Not happening. Why would I pull for a school I never went to, nor one my kid isn't going to? Makes no sense at all. Unfortunately, Clemson is probably going to destroy UNC in the ACC championship. But if games were decided before the kick-off, why play them? I still remember the Giants...

Will we lose any members to one of these?

Not bad! Got the 4 door 4x4--with the 6 1/2' bed an FJR can ride in! Don't have the FZ09--because I still have my '02 FZ1! With Ivan's Performance Products jet kit and a Yoshi exhaust it's been dyno'ed at 125hp. Still runs like silk. My problem with the Corvette is an odd, but simple one...

With a handle like "Yanktar"?????? Where do you think it comes from??? (hint: The "tar" is from "Tarheel" )

    I didn't see it - lesson learned

Nope. That's why I prefer cars that are VISIBLE. Unfortunately, silver, black and white seem to be the favorite colors out there, with some dark greens or blues.

    I didn't see it - lesson learned

DCarver: Glad you are OK! Sounds like you didn't even dump the bike, which is even better. Plus you had a smart, alert car driver...BRAVO FOR HIM!! I've always worked on the assumption that 9 times out of 10, the cager is at fault, but since I KNOW that and should expect it, it's my fault...

Holy Crap my A$$ is killing me

As someone said, it's subjective. If the Russell Day-Long works well for someone, I'm happy for them, and a bit envious. Lots of people love them, and I get that. But mailing in pictures and measurements didn't work for me (they didn't even get the cover right the first time) and I found my...

Will we lose any members to one of these?

I'm not offended--I agree! 100%! And I'm thinking this is the LAST European car I'm going to ever own. (But it is a heckuvalot of fun to drive--6 speed stick, clamshell drop-top, light colored seats that don't get as hot in the summer sun, 300hp)

Holy Crap my A$$ is killing me

I hate to throw cold water on the Russell DL but it you don't go to the factory and have them fit it to you, you may well be disappointed, and for a lot of money. I have one on my other bike and sent it back to them 2x and they STILL didn't get it right! I finally pulled the cover off and...

    Iowa Hawkeyes

Never thought I'd be interested in the Big 10 till my son went to Northwestern, which, for the 'Cats, is having a banner year. I went to UNC (for grad school) so I'm excited that they'll play Clemson for the ACC title. As a Hawkeye, you, too, should be rooting for the Tarheels to knock off...

Will we lose any members to one of these?

Yikes! I'm struggling with replacing a battery on a BMW (4 wheels, not 2) because you have to "register" the battery with the car's computer--and the dealer wants $154 for that, another $154 for changing the battery, plus a stealership markup of a $175 battery to $300. So, I've got the...

    2004 FJR Made Motorcyclist!

Thank you. I thought that was clear. I haven't ridden even close to as much the last 10 years as I did the almost 30 before, when I put lots of miles on my bikes.

    2004 FJR Made Motorcyclist!

Just got my December/January 2016 copy of Motorcyclist and there on Page 73 is someone asking about "Looking For Mr. Goodwrench" for an '04 with 90,000 miles that's never had a valve adjustment check, and sounds like he's never sych'ed the throttle bodies either. My '04 doesn't have that kind...

Brand New '04 ABS. I'm finally an FJR owner

It shouldn't be hard to put on the center stand. I have the same bike and it's no problem at all. Just put your hand on the grab handle on the left side of the seat, put almost all your weight on the center stand pedal and lift up gently. It should pop onto the stand with no major effort...
