Motorcycle deaths continue to edge up

I wonder if the statistcs include the hordes of scooters that are now on the road. It may not as they are not registered vehicles. If they are included, then one could expect accidents and fatalities to rise. If they are not, then these statistics are truly a bit disturbing.

    Berthoud Pass, Colorado

Good thing you passed on Rabbit Ears. Got six inches of snow in Steamboat and guess there were a dozen cars in the ditch up on the pass. Stayed out of the hills this weekend and instead stayed home and mowed the lawn. Hope it is nice next weekend, guess the trees are changing fast. Steve

    Diabetes

My 16 year old son has Type 1. Found out when he was 11. They had him giving himself shots from the first day we found out. He now has a pump and that has made his life a lot simpler. Rides dirt bikes and plays drums in the high school band. Keeping fingers crossed, but now is living a very...

    Saddlebag caps/plugs/cover thingies

My mother took some felt and made a little case with pockets for each plug. Rolls up nice with a little tie and keep them under the seat. Moms are great! RTSR1/FJR, I have an extra set somewhere for an 04. The original ones were left in the side case when I bought it and go all scratched up...

    I think I've just created a Monster

If you get hooked up with some dirt bikers at the nearest track, there is a good chance you could find a pretty nice 80 or 90 that some kid has outgrown without abusing it too much. Got my son an 80 Kawi and saved a lot of bucks over a new one. They grow out of them pretty fast.

    I think I've just created a Monster

Time to get those kids some dirt bikes! Get them started young and they can really learn how to handle and respect a motorcycle. Just my two cents. Steve

So sorry to hear about Larry. I live in Denver and didn't pay much attention to the papers over the weekend. When I get home tonight I'll dig them out and see what I can find.

    Computer Software Questions

Bounce, At least I've got everybody running either 2000 or XP. Reduces problems significantly. Win 98 must be fun to have in the mix. You'll love AD, it sure makes managing users a lot easier. Appreciate your description of your environment. Gives me things to consider. The less...

New FJR owner / Dumb question

I might try gently whacking it with a rubber hammer. That one there looks like a bit of overkill for the job.

    Computer Software Questions

dcarver, Thanks for the info. Was sort of familiar with old SMS but it was expensive and a pain in the *** for our little operation. Have just three servers to deal with, but automating client updates would be a great way to go. Get so busy with day to day stuff, it is hard to get away and...

    Computer Software Questions

Bounce, Yeah, try to keep up as much as possible. With 40 machines to watch over, it can become a full time job. And I'm the only IT guy. Guess I need to work about 60 hours a week. NOT! It's starting to warm up and there's an FJR in the garage that really needs some exercise. Thanks, Steve

    Wow. This guy has skills!

Skooter, Yeah, that one works fine. Appreciate you sending that along. Have to find out where that guy is playing. Steve
