    Stock Bridgestones

I got 5700 miles out of my stock Bridgestone’s with the rear tire just past the wear bars and the front just about to them. I had no complaints with them but I wanted to try something different so I went with the Dunlop D208's and I'm happy with those. But the D208's more of a sport bike tire so...

Yeah, that's what I read as well. Sounded like a good idea but I'm not will to take the chance myself.

Gah, I just read a couple of reviews about these on Amazon where in one case they actually caused a flat and in the other they were 10 psi off when compared with a gauge. One guy said Car & Driver did a review and said they were crap. Oh well.

Yeah, I have a compressor and gauge in my garage and I check the pressure before even starting the bike and I carry a digital with me on the bike. But that's not what I had in mind. I was thinking that these would be a quick and easy check while I was out riding and stopping for gas or to eat...

While on the subject of tires. My friend at work told me about these Tire Minders and I thought they were pretty slick. Has anyone used them? https://www.customwheelweights.com/store/me...PROD/tmmk/TM-42

    New shorts needed

My BT020's were worn past the bars in the rear and just about to the bars in the front with about 5700 on them. I don't like to mix brands and I also like to change both tires at the same time. I didn't experience any cupping or wobble and my only real grip issue was caused by a steel cattle...

    New shorts needed

I've been running the Dunlop D208 for the last 700 miles and I love the way they feel. I've experienced incredible grip in both wet and dry conditions. My only concern is how much tread life I'm going to get out them. I was able to get over 5k out of the stock Bridgestone’s that came with the...

    Jan 28th Sat Ride

I might be up for this. I've done the 78 > 79 > 371 > 74 > 243 many times now, it’s actually one of my favorite rides. I usually stop at the Idyllwild Cafe for breakfast and finish down the 243 to the 10 then back up the 74 from Palm Desert to the 371. I've wanted to stop at that...

    Yamaha offers info on AE

Doesn't really address a dead battery with the bike parked in gear as was discussed on the other thread. Very interesting stuff though. I've been stuck in some heavy traffic where lane splitting wasn't an option and my clutch hand did get tired after a while.

    New Ride Jan 7th

My tank has a clear waterproof liner that would protect the PDA phone and GPS receiver. I'm planning on installing a Powerlet outlet so I'm able to run or charge my phone, chatterbox, and receiver on the bike. The phone is also a mp3 player. Here's a link for the Powerlet...

    Scraped exhaust today

Yep, leaning off even slightly really helps and you shouldn't have a problem scraping crap.

    New Ride Jan 7th

I had a great time! It was nice hooking up and meeting some local So Cal riders. Thanks again for lunch Mike. That Imperial Hwy is just a great road and it sure was fun opening up on it. Man, look at the weather in those pics! Not bad at all for January. Here's my cell phone pic from the...

Dunlop D208 ZR on the FJR

Well, I was able to test the wet traction on the 208’s today and I was very impressed. Heh, it’s actually raining in San Diego. Overall, I very happy with them through the first 400 miles and it’s just a matter of seeing what kind of tire life I get out of them. If these wear out really fast...
