I went down and test rode the New Connie. Kay rode pillion as a second opinion was needed for comfort from her perspective, and I had it for about 45 minutes in city traffic, then freeway, then some twisties.
First impressions, nice fit and finish, but the small plastic hatch between the gas...
Just turned 55, still not sure what I'll be IF I grow up. But until I do the FJR keeps me sharp and in shape, though some could debate both. I just love the power, the weight and the stability of this platform.
Never rely on technology, but when you have to grab the whole thing and it still looks like you're going in, remember you can still aim with ABS for the space that might save your life. Worked for me. ++ ABS and I follow at a much safer distance now. Live and learn.
I found the same thing with Bridgestones on grooves section of I-5, not very nice. Same road on Avons and Dunlops were fine. The Superbrace will minimize the action of the grooves until you have worn them out. Check your tire pressures, increase to 40 f and 42 r or decrease and see if there...
Kasey gave me her brand new stock '03 shield last year and it was great for summer riding, might try the Cal Sci cut out mod for this summer and see how it works.
Xena Disc Alarm is what I use. Very loud, different than the sound of a car alarm, and it only goes off if it is moved.
Can't roll the bike anywhere with it on. If some tries to pick it up, it will scream the whole time, certainly long enough for you to get the clip in and one in the chamber...
Had to pop over to Ireland for my partner's father's funeral, and lucked out with a couple of days riding.
Here is a link to the ride pictures https://www.fjrowners.ws/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?p=33385#33385
I think the way it is being done provides the info and keeps the info secure. It is unfortunate that in this day and age we have to do it this way, but I really don't want my #'s being on the web. Great idea, but it is not going to have the support of the existing FJR assist list.
There are...
Waane, you've got that right. Last year after the WFO, Kasey and I headed into Frisco a la tourista, over the Bay Bridge, man it was crazy. There were bikes lane splitting by us at 50 mph while the cages were rolling if best at 20!
We did lane split, new for us Canucks but did so very...
Two come to mind. I had one of those square aluminum hazardous material signs from the back of trucks dance in the air ahead of me then bounced on edge and caught my right fork and into my radiator guard.
Then there was the plastic utility tub that flew off the top of an SUV, bounced twice...
Don't know all the circumstances but this guy leaving the scene is unthinkable. On Sunday on my way into town on divided four lane in the car. I had passed three cars and was preparing to return into the right lane, mirror check, shoulder check ..all clear and just as I am about to move into...
Man, all you guys are *******. Modify this, modify that, until you are blue in the face. ONE word....................
ADVIL and get on with it, or just face it, your too old for riding.
Grip puppies, might work over the heated grips, but before I bought my puppies, I used neoprene wrap held in place with bicycle handlebar wrap. Worked great, and I could adjust the size to my liking.
Looked like **** after a while though and ordered a few pairs of grip puppies for myself and a...
Left bag, first aid kit with blanket rubber gloves and shock kit. Tire repair kit. Tools, just the basic ****.
Right bag, empty.
Top box, tinted visor, plexus, a few soft rags for wiping, extra ear plugs, rain gloves, utility light.
Bravo Gypsy, and that is just about the way it feels!! Good thing we do have health care, what with all the numb right hands, pain between the shoulder blades and sore ***** that so many here complain about.
Enjoy spring.
