    This is a stupid question

I had a '74 Super Dutry 455 Trans Am. Cursed that thing on a regular basis until I wised up and started going through the wheel well to get at one plug. Wish I had that car now.

    Those damnable vibrations

I sure hope this " cure " is the real thing. I'll spend whatever it takes to rid this machine of the only real fault it has.....at least as I see it. I must have been cursed and got one of the vibration monsters. I sure appreciate the fact that you, Radman, sit around and think of ways to deal...

    FJR Riders and crashing

My passenger and I went down for one reason only.......very small " pea " gravel that you couldn't see. Luckily, I was only going about 35 MPH. No degree of riding skill could have prevented the accident. I was in a series of switchbacks, leaned over quite a bit, and all of a sudden I'm sliding...

High Speed run Yesterday, learned what I already knew

I'm no stranger to riding a bike for thrills. In the later 60's and into the 70's, I raced motocross pretty extensively....even had some " back door " support from Yamaha for the YZ 250 I was riding. Now days, I mainly get my kicks doing some fairly agressive mountain riding. Ive got to admit...

    What Camera do you own?

I shoot Nikon stuff exclusively, mainly because I built up quite a list of their equipment years ago and got committed to their " system ". I still shoot some slide film on occasion, mostly scenics, and use an F 6 camera when doing so. When shooting from the bike, I use either the D 80 or the D...

    Avon Storm AV55 Front

I may not be the back road bandit some of you guys are, but I do ride fairly agressively at times....particularly when I'm up in the high country. My Avon Storms are performing flawlessly. Give me plenty of stability under all conditions. I've got my '05 really balanced out well, suspension...

    V-Stream windshield

The V-Stream and Skyway's spacers on my '05. The best combo I've tried....and I tried five different shields. Wish there had been a way for me to have sampled those things as opposed to having had to buy them. Damn near broke me.

    Am I missing something?

These guys are right. Once you understand that it's the push down, rather than the pull up, that is actually making it happen, it all becomes a piece of cake.

Need a backrest for my wife

Generally speaking, backrests that attach to the back rack, through a variety of means, are more comfortable for the passenger. Those that are an attachment to the rear seat tend to push the passenger too far forward.

    Blue Ridge Parkway

Sorry, I did not read the first posting closely enough. If you are planning to go the last week in Oct., the leaf experience will vary greatly as to the elevation you are riding and whether you are on the north end, or south end, of the BRP. Generally speaking, at the higher elevations and...

    Blue Ridge Parkway

The leaves are definitely gone....have been for quite some time. The weather you'll run into will be all over the map. For sure, take some warm riding gear. And don't forget to include some good rain gear. The higher elevations this time of the year can still see temps in the 20's in the evening...

    Audi R8 in Ojai

Sad, but true. I pulled up in the DB9 to the Ritz Carlton on Amelia Island the other day and two stunning ladies took to swirling all around the car...just cooing and carrying on. I was in the DB9 as my partner had my Subaru out for the day.... he wanted to spend some time in a really fast car.

    Audi R8 in Ojai

One of my partners just bought an Aston Martin DB9....black with a black top and brown interior. One of the most beautiful cars I've ever seen. With a few extras he had added....built-in radar detector, etc.......the thing cost him about $203,000. I've got a Subaru Forester, highly modified for...

    Air Wings Cancelled

Thanks to all who worked on this project. I, too, am dissapointed but I can appreciate the economics not working out. I'm a player if this deal ever gets resurrected.

    Victory Vision Tour:

I got a real good look at the Vision while at Daytona....passed up an offer to ride it around the display area, didn't figure such a ride would tell me much. It's not my kind of bike but it sure is an interesting entry into that segment of the market. The looks of the thing are polarizing to say...

    Anybody use this wax?

Go to the Zaino Bros. web site. Their stuff has won many comparos and way out-performs any other product I have tried. I have used it extensively on many show cars. Their product offerings are extensive in scope, so read a little about each one to determine which variants are best for you. You...

    Farkle # 2

It's been my experience ( after trying several sets ) that bar ends are the most useless farkle you can add. Save your money for a farkle that is worth doing.

    Russell Seat Question

I've got a little over 20,000 miles on my Sargent on my '05 and have not had one uncomfortable moment on it. It looks as good as the day they made it. Quality folks putting out a real quality product. I particularly like the expanded seating area that gives you the option of varying your riding...

    Driving mobile phone users documentary

I second the comment about cops and their computers ( and radios, etc. ). I occasionally do " ride alongs " with these guys and nothing will cause your *** to pucker faster than being in a high speed run and have the driver screwing with the computer and talking on the radio.

    Prius is an environmental nightmare

Wasn't there an issue at one time about the reluctance of rescue people to exposing themselves to the risks of wrecked hybrids....electrical shocks and battery acids? Statistically, there are darn few of these cars on the road so it is obviously not a huge concern, but the issue would weigh...
