    Suspension comparison

330+200+gear=overloading the bike no matter what suspension you have. The weight limit is in the mid-400's IIRC. RTFM

    Single person tent

OK, I've been camping my whole life, so I have some experience here. No matter the tent, divide the number of persons it says it will sleep by 2. A 1 man tent is very tight, claustrophobic, and will leave no room for any gear whatsoever. In short, you'll hate it. 4 man tents are good for...

    stock muffler modification

I think that is asking for the pipes to rust more quickly as the finish is no longer protecting the steel in the baffles. Plus resale....no friggin way would I buy such an expensive bike where someone drilled holes in the pipes. Makes you wonder what other bubble gum and duct tape is holding...

Week One With a New FJR

Ahh, the joys of new FJR ownership. Kinda makes me warm and fuzzy inside. I'm going on 5 years now on my 03 purchased Fall of 02. That's a record for me, usually after 2 years I want something else. But, no the FJR is a keeper. Granted, yes, you do have to tweak it a little to suite your...

    EOM '07

Wow, so most of the original WV Ramble crowd will be at EOM as well. Very cool. Zorkler, you living in NC now? Been on the BRP yet?

    EOM Bike to Bike Radio

OK, so it looks like we should settle on the lower, non subchannels to accomodate FRS and GMRS. Howz about channel 3?

    EOM Preview Pics, again

'Demersum OLD ROCKS!!!! Thanks for sharing. I'm soo very thankful to have been passed down land in Upshur county from my family. It's way out in the middle of nowhere in a little hamlet called Hemlock(ie muddy rutty road, unsafe for street MC's and frankly cars too), so a perfect place to...

    Please Help

Oh man, Wheaton....dooooood.....say it ain't so. Looks like I have no choice but to send a few bucks for a new Wheatie stitch. We can't have you running around appalachia this fall in that attire. Folks around 'dem parts would have their way with you. I was going to invite you to stay on...

    Change of plans (Part 2)

WOW! A guy leaves town for a few days, and look what happened! Really, really glad you're OK, Heidi! Whew, you never know when things like this will happen. Especially when chasing another bike through WV! But the bike is replaceable and you're essentially OK (how's the ankle feeling?)...

    EOM Bike to Bike Radio

Thought it would be nice to have a standard frequency for riders at large to communicate on for EOM as I know many use various radios. This we can help keep together, warn of hazards, and help find other nearby riders who may have strayed or fell behind. Any thoughts? I'm no expert on the...

Any Takers for a 2-Up EOM Ride?

Sounds interesting, I may be into the slower pace for the a.m to kinda hang with the 'ol wolfpack, meet up for lunch and part the group with higher speeds and longer mileage/hard core twisties in the pm. Tough to decide...maybe I'll just ride out way in front and warm the pack of upcoming hazards.

Please put me down for an XL short sleeve. I know Gary had to step down, just thought we would keep the thread alive.

S.E. Ohio Ramble - anybody gonna organize one?

Looks like a great riding plan!! I would try to stay off 50 as much as possible and just use it for must-use throughways. Lunch? Whew...most of the small towns have little diners. I usually pack my lunch and stop in a state park, like Zalewski SF, Lake Hope SP, or in an AEP rec area, or...

    FJR video

Yep, I'm going to Zurich in 2 weeks for work, have been looking around at possible rides as I only have to work one day! Very confusing to say the least. Hopefully can get down to Italy. Definitely will check out what Switerland has to offer. A friend was there last year and did an...

    EOM Day trips

Mark, The first route is probably a little ambitious. We only did about 250 miles each day at the WV ramble if memory serves. That was 9:00am to 7:00pm, and as you know we didn't stop and screw around too much. But then again, if you're only out this way once a year..go for it. Ask Zorkler...
