Sticking brakes of pad change + new rotors

Hey DG- Thought of something....did you put the wheel spacers in the correct location/orientation??? If you did not, the wheel will not be centered properly and will rub the rotors "offcenter". Remove the wheel, swap the spacers and try it again! Betcha that's what's going on!!!!

    Ran out of gas

Actually the fuel cools the fuel pump. THat is the main reason why you don't want to repeatedly run on empty. It will overheat the pump!

I dunno, looks like I may be solo? Will be in Logan by 9:00am, taking 33E to 93E to 216N to 78E to 55N to 60N to 70W back to CMH. That should land me back in CMH at 3..and need to be back at 3 for another commitment. Anywhere along this route you can think of to meet up? Brunswick is ways away...

Yo Tommy, Just to make sure you know this...Iron Pony will not take the wheel of your bike. You have to bring the rim/tire in. It sounds like you know this already--just making sure so you don't waste a trip to C-bus or start shooting innocent bystanders for not knowing that. I also would...

Well, crap any chance we can change this to Sunday...as early as feasible? Wife got in an accident in the cage this morning and need to do the collision shop estimate thing with her on Saturday. She's fine..her little Scion tC...not so much! Sunday need to be back in N. Columbus by 3:00 for a...

    Comfort tips needed

+2 on Wild Bill's highway pegs. The highway pegs let you stretch out for bit, crack the 'ol knee joints and continue in the normal riding position for *MUCH* longer than without them. I don't ride for miles on end using them, but the few minutes to stretch out really make a difference for me...

    Handguard modification

I had a foot of the SAENG micro swirl edging laying around, so thought I would make use of them. Results..hands stay dryer in the rain! These are BMW GS guards, but the same mod should apply to the 'zook strom guards too. Glued on with black silicone adhesive. So far about 3k miles an no...

    Michelin Motorcycle Tires

I liked the Pilot Roads when I tried them years ago. Better grip and handling than the Battleaxes, and hands down beats Dunflops (God, I HATE Dunlop tires!!!!) The Avon storms (and former Azarro) were superior handling tires, IMO. Life was about the same--hard to tell for sure. Would buy...

the scary part is how it will look

I like it! Will be cool to the see the finished product. Good on 'ya for doing something different. Custom paint adds 5hp, too.

Damn dog ate my bike (again)

Dayum...that sucks...animals are basically a pain in the *** sometimes. Most often not, but yep...boredom will make dogs chew anything they find. Get her out and let 'er run! I'll start a new thread to ask for Monkey butt powder donations for 'ya.

BG- Sure...how about the Saturday in Canal Winchester exit on 33 at the BP station (west side of 33, you have to do a U turn to enter the BP). Coffee break at 10:00, clutches out by 10:15?? Sound OK to you?? I figured it will be cccooolldddd in the am, so no need for an early start. The old...

Wifey and I are headed out Saturday for a leaf tour. Not sure where we'll go, but knowing her butt is not exactly an iron one, probably no further from CMH then Vinton County. I'm guessing 33 to 56 to 374 or 278, Coal Mine Road to either one of these, Wheelright Road to a friends log cabin for...

Sticking brakes of pad change + new rotors

I suggest removing the calipers and use solvent with a toothbrush to remove the gunk around the piston seals. That is basically a maintenance item anyway. Then sand the pads on a FLAT surface. Reinstall and try again. If still sticking, try the stock pads. I don't think the rotor is the...

2 months into the new bike...

Geez, if the only thing you find wrong with the FJR is ill placed valve stems (assuming your vision needs correction, which it sounds like yours does), that sounds a bit whiney to me. I have owned an FJR for 6 years and never thought twice about that. Get a right angled tire pressure guage and...

    Can you see me NOW?

Cool idea on the plexiglas. Next time you wire something up, check into heat shrink tubing to protect the wires from chafing. Betcha you'll be fiddling with this again in 10K miles. The rear fender vibrates enough to wear through the wiring insulation in short order. Also, use rubber...

    Wayne (ExtremeMarine) and Annette Update

Hi Heidi! Indeed, missed you guys too! In a nutshell, I have been doing a lot of other things this year and just couldn't swing EOM. So many hobbies, so little time. Plus that weekend is my B-day and anniversary weekend, so suffice to say kind of a bad time. Next year, I'll drag her down...

    Wayne (ExtremeMarine) and Annette Update

Definitely thinking of you guys (Wayne and Annette) right now. I sincerely hope the the recovery is both quick and effective. I'm constantly amazed by how the body can heal itself and recover, especially with the help of modern medicine. Heal up quickly!!!! Mike

Wanted to thank everyone for a great time @ EOM 08'

Well, god damnit I missed what sounds like the best EOM yet!!!! All I can say is I really fubared up this time (no offense to fubar himself) Took a lot of time off doing other vacations this year. None involved toxic strawberries. And none had pink playgirl trucks to distract...
