Now isn't the the truth? Definitely not easy to pick up words to some of their songs. But hey, you were darn close!!! Which is better than I can say for my knowledge of any song made after about 1994.

    EOM Ride routes

Thanks, Mark. I figured it would go something like what you've described. I don't need the route in advance. Just want to make sure there will be some suggested routes to take when we get there. I know the N and NE portion of the state pretty well, but not so much the S and SE. Looking...

    EOM Ride routes

If I've missed this, feel free to poke fun, and hopefully a link! Are there specific routes planned for the event? Post 'em if you got 'em!

    TBS @ EOM

Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner! Tom, thanks for volunteering. Us Ohio boyz will show 'em how things get done. So looks like we have plenty of sync tools. Who is going to man station #2 as the lead tech and bring tools needed for the job? Aviator and Axeman can assist. Oh, and I concur...

    TBS @ EOM

I'm still game for being a tech. Again, will bring all tools-except the sync tool itself, for one "service bay". Would appreciate an assistant to make things easier. Will try to make it back from riding by 4:00 Friday to begin the session. If you want yours done, please be kind and have your...

    coil or cap failure?

The coils fire 2 cylinders at a time, if I'm not mistaken. 1-3 and 2-4 Betcha it's the cap, lead to the cap, or a cracked plug. I would guess the plug. BTW, often the cracks are internal so you won't be able to see them.

    exhaust

There are companies that may be able to fix this pretty cheaply. They plug one end, shove high pressure compressed air in the other, heat the dented area, and the dent will pop out. Refinish and it's as good as new for probably $100 or so. Never heard of the freezer trick. But, adventure/off...

    Another motorcyclist dies

Sorry to hear this. I feel horrible for the family. IMO the cager is not at fault. She was in her lane, doing the speed limit. Since she got up to 55, it's obvious that she made the turn WELL in advance of the cement truck. At minimum that's 4 seconds or so (assuming she had a very fast...

Installed my Audiovox cruise control today

While the "anthills" in Florida may not be the most credible place to test the actuation, I can assure the group that steep grades also are no match for the Audiovox cruise. So long as you have a sealed vacuum cannister and everything else is working correctly. There is a little more delay...

Isn't it'''watch the fireworks display", not "fire, watch it play"? Speaking of Rush, going to see them over Labor Day. 4th row center, baby!

    experience with FZ6 vs YZF600R?

I flogged a YZF600 for a couple of years before getting the FJR. Wonderful bike. Perhaps the most underrated sport bike (also small sport touring, which is what I used it for). The Katana is slow and sloppy (and brakes suck!) in comparison. Huge difference. Steer away from the Kat if the YZf...

    Tire availability

Don't get a flat in Northern Michigan! Wasn't a ****** tire for 200+ mile radius when I incurred a nail over the US/Canada bridge in S. Ste. Marie. Had to get a 160 shoehorned on to get home. FYI, a lot of 600cc bikes use 160's. And I can say for certainty that they hold up to 600 miles of...

    350 miles Vs VFR

I diced it for 4 days with a VFR in the smokies, along with 5 or 6 HD's and a couple of VTX's. It's all about the rider. We both rode from 9am-8pm-all mountain riding and spirited. There was no resting for either of us. HD and VTX rode 1/2 the miles and complained of fatigue. AND...I was...

FJR engineers embarrassed by Concours 14

Cool. My MR2 Turbo has Yamaha pasted all over the side cover. Toyota outsourced the build of the entire vehicle and engine design to Yamaha, knowing they were experts with handcraft and high performance. If you saw the engine bay and chassis, it's clear that it HAD to be hand assembled...

Deal! :) FYI, my plate is "MYFJR". Not to be confused with the same plate from NJ

Rider friend killed, a lesson for everyone

Ah, yes, I remember that Wheaton! Thankfully, YOU did not need bailing wire :yahoo: Truth be told, there probably was not a better way to handle that incident than how you did.

    FJR LEO magnet?

My 03 with the hi-viz Aerostitch seems to be an anti-magnet. LEO's nary give me a second look. I can't say the same for riding in my MR2!

    NE Ohio to EOM planning.

Thanks for the offer. I think I'll ride down solo from Columbus though. Something about a solitary ride over a long day that clears the 'ol noggin. But I'll gladly join you for a beer down there!

    t-shirts

Yes, I'm one of these poor blokes. I knew about it, but zoned out and didn't get my $ into Geezers' hands on time. I won't expect him to cover for me. I'll just do without one.
