    FJR1300 To Be Retired

Looks like they'll be some options to spend your money on. Noticed the crash bars and hand guards. Like the lights in the top box. Don't like the bar; brake fluid cup looks cheesy. No thanks also to adaptive cruise control or braking for that matter. And I detest computer generated voice-overs.

Heading to the Black Hills of SD. Recommendations/Advice welcome

+1^ Also search threads here on Black Hills or even Red Lodge. I remember quite a few write-ups. I rode right past the Missile Site too but didn't stop due to time. Still regret missing that.

    Garmin Zumo discount

I had/have the exact same thoughts about my 590, especially as I have four sensors split between two bikes. Never had any issues until one sensor recently stopped reporting and I'm now trying to figure out if it's a few bad batteries or the sensor itself is kaput. Between that and several real...

    Electro-Farkling 2016

Hey guys, just another possibility. I recently had a chance to upgrade some marker lights on my truck, ones that come stock on a different version of the same model. Found out it was more than just adding the lights and tapping into the wiring as it was all programed into the CAN bus system...

    Added a new to me 2016 FJR1300A

I think that's a bene that's often overlooked. After having some fun on good roads and then pulling into a small township where the speed limit drops drastically it's not a bad idea to set the cruise to that 25 or 35 mph limit as you pass through. Easy way to save some $$ possibly.

    Heated gear and gloves website

And like in the OP's case, W&S will give buy back credits if you turn in your old gear, working or not. However it appears the OP is satisfied with Gerbings for the moment.

North American Wild Card Moto-Tag Game

This brings back a memory. Some time ago I came across a sign up in Massachusetts that had me laughing in my helmet. Always regretted not turning around to snap a pic. A quick search just now shows I wasn't the only one. CLICKY

    Fatter Grips

You've got options. I'm sure you'll get plenty of recommendations but for simple starters take a look at Grip-Puppies. Easy in that they just slip over the OEM grips and you should still enjoy some of the heat from them. (Real important in Florida?) These might make the grips big enough for...

You may know this already but the cap benefits from pushing down on it with one hand while turning the key with the other. Seems to take the pressure off and allows the key to turn much easier.

Did I finally kill my FJR?

You mentioned jumping it with the car battery. I've never done that but believe you don't want the car running when doing so.

FREE '05 in Ft. Myers Beach!

Can't remember what was the outcome with the quad but we did get the scooter running. Stopping it though was a different story. :giggle: I hope someone can take you up on your offer so the only thing I'll say is whether you put the minimal work in to get it rideable or go all out restoring it...

FREE '05 in Ft. Myers Beach!

You have my best wishes that everything pans out ok. Having lived through Sandy I got to see first hand how that salt water impacts everything and for some time to come afterwards. Very good friends of ours live directly opposite and facing the brown house on the left. The high water mark was...

    Update/resolved & thx. —> Tire mount / balance weight(s) question

Granted. It was late and I wrote that while watching a lackadaisical Islanders game. Still doesn't change the premise though about numbers opposite each other or weights lined up as is.

    Update/resolved & thx. —> Tire mount / balance weight(s) question

I could see where you might question it. With 8 ozs on one side and 4 directly opposite, it would seem logically that you could take off 4 on both sides and come out the same. But I do my own balancing and would trust that before what I think is logical. That said, whether or not the numbers...
