One way to see if you need more rebound damping is to hold the front brake and compress the shocks and release the bike to see how much it bounces back (without you interfering on the handlebars during the bounce back). The bike should bounce back and settle down without bouncing around another...

Thanks for the reminder.... I haven't had a tank slapper moment yet and I hope it never does happen. Good to know it does happen and to always listen to the little voice in your head that says 'whoa, be careful'. But, once in a while, the macho voice takes over and you push the bike hard...

So, nobody has had the steering stem nut off on their 2014's ? Is there a washer or not ? Is there is a difference between the ES and non-ES steering stem nut setup (different triple clamp) ?

I am away from home.... thus no manual. But I did find the answer on the FJROwners site... I needed to use the reset button located next to the RPM gauge. But thanks for the input.

Just traded in my 2009 for a 2014ES... Nothing wrong with my 2009. I do love the extras that the 2014 offers (cruise, the ES, the throttle by wire, newer fairings etc). My financial advisor (a.k.a. the wife) doesn't buy the cost to benefit argument.... but you gotta love the redesign...
