    2014 FJR-ES with police bars

Well protected, yes.... nice looking, no. I would not put those on mine. But hey, if he likes them, it's his bike.

    2014ES Service Manual Up-To-Date?

I am looking into getting the manual but if you think the price is high at $93 US, think again. The manual costs $182 CDN (about $160 US) from the dealer here. Dang.... I can't even buy it via the Yamaha site as they don't ship to Canada. I have an American address that I could ship to...

    2014 A Handling/Suspension Problem

One way to see if you need more rebound damping is to hold the front brake and compress the shocks and release the bike to see how much it bounces back (without you interfering on the handlebars during the bounce back). The bike should bounce back and settle down without bouncing around another...

    2014 A Handling/Suspension Problem

Don't be afraid to tweak your suspension settings. I played around with mine until the bike felt so much better. It is a trial and error thing. First off, play with one setting at a time to feel how your changes are affecting the bike. At 200 lbs, I had the following settings for my 2009...

    The 2014 FJR1300 - Woo-hoo!

Talked to the dealer.... they will order the washer. Seems it was left out. A heads up to 2013-2014 owners.... check to see if your washer was forgotten. Thanks for the responses guys.

    Mea Culpa and Lesson Learned

Thanks for the reminder.... I haven't had a tank slapper moment yet and I hope it never does happen. Good to know it does happen and to always listen to the little voice in your head that says 'whoa, be careful'. But, once in a while, the macho voice takes over and you push the bike hard...

    The 2014 FJR1300 - Woo-hoo!

So, nobody has had the steering stem nut off on their 2014's ? Is there a washer or not ? Is there is a difference between the ES and non-ES steering stem nut setup (different triple clamp) ?

    Speed Bleeders for 2013/Gen 3

When I removed my Speedbleeders from my 2009 (Speedbleeders installed in 2011) because I was trading the old girl in for a 2014, I noticed that the Speedbleeder for the clutch had some good rust on the part located Inside the housing (not the part exposed to the elements).... my next one will...

New 2014 in Vancouver, BC, Canada

Gotta love that Canadian Black edition..... According to some, 'it's the fastest colour'. Congrats and enjoy... I know I love my ES.

    Sometimes Being An Adult Sucks

This post was nice to read.... we just had our 16 yr old cat put down. Such an empty feeling but then you think about all the good moments and it was all worth it. Thanks for sharing.

Es Model worth the extra money?

I tweaked my 2009 suspension to the point where I got it suited for me and my style of riding (agressive). But when I would get the wife on, I didn't touch anything because of the trouble involved - other than the lever (lugging tools and counting clicks etc). With the ES, just remember the...

    The 2014 FJR1300 - Woo-hoo!

I already posted the following as a separate post but I guess it should be tied in to this one because it applies to the 2014 model.... my steering stem nut washer is missing (unless the 2014 doesn't have one). Anyone else missing theirs ? Apparently, the 2014 repair manual shows a washer in...

    The 2014 FJR1300 - Woo-hoo!

I am away from home.... thus no manual. But I did find the answer on the FJROwners site... I needed to use the reset button located next to the RPM gauge. But thanks for the input.

    The 2014 FJR1300 - Woo-hoo!

Just traded in my 2009 for a 2014ES... Nothing wrong with my 2009. I do love the extras that the 2014 offers (cruise, the ES, the throttle by wire, newer fairings etc). My financial advisor (a.k.a. the wife) doesn't buy the cost to benefit argument.... but you gotta love the redesign...
