    The Death of Andrew Knight

Thanks for your words WC. No doubt very difficult for you to do, and no doubt it was the right thing to do. We all appreciate it, and while perplexing, in a way is helpful. Having known other families that have gone through something similar, I know that the families, loved ones, and...

    We Lost a Friend

I am in shock - as I check the forum probably2 or 3 times a week and came across this very sad news. Never met Andrew, but received a PM from him (the first time from anyone on the forum) where he had read one of my comments and offered his caring thoughts and reply - and I remember thinking...

    Bad news for me

This too shall pass Tru. Thats what good friends told me when I was going through it (ended up leaving with just my clothes, car, and guitar) -- cost me mega $$$ -- but now life is better than ever and life is good. Just takes time. Got me back into riding bikes, and my 05 FJR...

    New BABY

:clapping: Congrats Trigger! Indeed a very special event. I thought I was done, and (suprprise) we had a little boy last year - and at my tender age of 52. Needless to say it curtailed my riding, and posting, the past year. But, what a special event, and a special gift. He loves...

We have lost one of our own and the Widow Needs our help

Thanks Fence for all you are doing to help. Am sure its a very tough time for the Mrs and family. Lost my Dad to the same pancreatic cancer20 years ago - as someone said it is one of the most difficult to detect and treat. Prayers go out to the family from me and I know from many others. Jay

    Another kid!!

:yahoo: Many Congrats -- not much in life compares to the miracle of birth! I've got children who are 26, 24, and 21 --- AND, just had a baby boy in Sept 06! What a shock that was (at my tender age of 51... ). Needless to say my riding time has slowed down a bit, and...

Beal - sorry to hear of the mishap. Stuff happens, despite our best efforts. Hopefully not too much damage (and hopefully you have some sliders installed! :dribble: Just curious, what part of the va/nc line did this take place? (I'm in Chesapeake, and often take 168 across the line...

Fairlaner: good pic -- I grew up in Gardena and Palos Verdes back in the 60's - your pic brought back good memories. Have been back East ever since. Talk about freak weather though; has been in the 70's here last weekend and this weekend, so needless to say the FJR was out and...

    Pre-flight mantra / affirmation?

When I got the FJR a fellow rider gave me a metal key fob that has "strength" and "peace" on it, and it helps remind me to ask for a safe journey from the good Man above. I never ride without that thought. Religious or not, it helps set my mind up properly. While I let the bike warm up...

Santa - I want it all!

Santa showed up a tad early at my home as well. First it was the FZ1 mirrors, and then yesterday the Sargent seat showed up via the UPS man. The wife answered the door and accepted the box (from our buddy SportsBikeEffects no less....) -- and then proceeded to ask me "what is this for?" --...

    Forum vendor review

I've ordered some stuff in the past from Jeff (radiator guard, superbrace) and they arrived as advertised from him. I just ordered the Sargent seat from him this week and he let me know that the delivery would be based upon Sargent's timetable of production (and I'm in no particular hurry)...

    TPS Sensor delay from Yamaha

From reading these (and other posts re: service depts) I feel lucky -- my dealer (Virginia Beach) has been nothing but excellent from day one. I swung by with my letter and the service manager had his recall notification right on top of his desk. They ordered the part, called me in 3 days...
