Ever try this on your FJR?

Interesting concept -- might be worth a try in the nice balmy summer here in Virginia. During cold winter days, however, not so sure --- guys, aren't we all too familiar with the term "shrinkage" ?? :( ;) Jay

Feej draws a crowd everywhere I go

About 2 months ago I met a friend of mine at a popular breakfast diner prior to our ride. He had recently bought his second Harley, an Electra-glide, with every imaginable option available on it. He was so proud, and couldn't wait to show it to me. After eating and heading out to the...

    Safer Riding - Important News

Any chance we can "punch up" that article, and perhaps "edit" it a bit; to say that it is advisable to have *** before AND after the ride - I would then provide it to my "safety conscience" wife.... :D Jay

    Rider Down

:( Bummer. Have been out for 3 days in Ashville NC on business, and return to the Forum, and this is the first post I read :( Best wishes for a full and speedy and complete recovery Ron. Don't think there is enough duct tape in the world to fix your bike though.... Keep us...

    Crikey, that sucks!

Had just finished playing a round of golf and came up to the pub for a cold beverage or two, only to hear the sad news about Steve -- and found myself in disbelief and shock. Having watched this guy with great pleasure for many years, it is no wonder so many (around the world) were so...

    Front Tire Pressure?

40 in the front and 42 in back on my 05 with original tires. Pretty much because that seems to be the general thought among everybody on the board. Jay

    My hero

Hang in there Dan. I lost my Dad to pancreatic cancer in 87, when he was but 57 years old. It is the worst cancer unfortunately, and at least I was able to share some wonderful moments with him before he went to a better place. It is tough, tough, tough. Our, and my thoughts are...

    Russel vs. Corbin vs. Sargent

Its quite perplexing and confusing --- some seem to love the Corbin and others hate it (seem to mostly comment on its "hardness") -- guess one would never really know until you sit and sample all three?? Tough to make a decision. I like the looks of the Corbin, but the "ride...

How about a saftey tip from each member?

36 years of driving cars and about 6 (on and off) on bikes and (knock on wood....) never have been in an accident. And, while there are thousands of safety tips, the one that I concentrate on in all driving is having that "buffer area of space" around you as much as possible. I posistion...

    Highway pegs.

Besides being able to stretch your legs a bit, I have found them to be VERY useful in providing some needed comfort on hot hot days. Just did a 150 mile run around southeastern Virginia last Saturday - temps around 90 and humidity around 190 (well, maybe it just felt like that.... :D )...

Just wanted to say hello quickly

Welcome Daniel to riding - and to this Forum. Think you are off to the proper start. While many don't think the FJR is a good "beginner" bike, I think it can work well, given the proper respect and practice time. Would recommend some of the riding books mentioned frequently on this...

    Tank Bag

Have the TourMaster Cortech Super Mini Magnetic and find that excellent for all short trips. High quality, and the rascal doesn't budge an inch, even at speeds that are illegal everywhere but the Autobahn ;) . We are in the "hot days of summer" in Virginia, and the boys are roasting a...

    NFL Quarterback in m/c crash

Yep -- started getting the calls and comments this afternoon about "how dangerous motorcycles are"...thanks to this guy (think he is 24 and the Suzuki was given to him by Suzuki for promotion) who chose to ride WITHOUT a helmet  , and apparently plowed into an old lady who turned...

Hi Heidi -- I witnessed a 06 traveling down I-264 eastbound toward Va Beach last week -- couldn't catch up with him! (imagine that!). Perhaps more FJR's in the area??? Lets ride sometime. Jay

NEP Throttle Lock photos on line

OK - based on Freds excellent pictures, and the other comments, my NEP arrived today. Now; at the risk of sounding like a moronic fng -- how or where are you guys using the Ziptie's and safety wire on this rascal?? Haven't taken it out of the package yet or looked at it up...

    Revit gloves

I've been using the Revit stuff for over a year - jacket, pants, and gloves - and am impressed with every aspect of the product. Discovered them at the local BMW motorcycle dealer -- and the sizes do run small (ie; wearing "XL" stuff even though would not normally do so). Very high...
