I threw away the ones for the bottom and only used the 4 on top. They haven't discolored after 2 1/2 years and there are no scratches. If they do turn yellow I'll just peel them off.
You do know that the Avons have a free road hazard program that pro rates acording to the tread left. So having a flat early in the tires life makes this a pretty good deal.
My gloves STINK. No really they smell like rotted bug juice. They are Frank Thomas Touring gloves and have the kevlar knuckles and wrist support. They have seen only about 4k miles. I've tryed to wash them, but don't know if this was the thing to do cause now they stink worse after another...
I've had 3 flats out of four sets of tires. Seems like every time I get a new set I get a flat within 4k miles. :angry2: I don't ride on the shoulder and try to avoid all debris and pot holes.
I don't feel lucky. :angry2:
Once again some great information on this forum. Thanks Jestal! I was just thinking about using atiseize on my next Iridium plug change...now I know better. :P
This is the reason that I like linked vs non linked. I rented a K1200GT for three days last summer in Arizona and quickly discovered that all the negative things I'd heard about linked systems was untrue. I found that the bikes suspension was much more stable upon entering corners and I just...
That looks very interesting. Can you give any more information like who makes it, or a web link, price?
I'm always looking for better protection with comfort and this looks like a serious vest.
Most torque values on the FJR are between 10 - 70 ft lbs and can be done with with a 3/8" drive. The axle bolts, swingarm pivot nuts, steering stem nut, and a few other things are over 70 ft lbs and should be torqued with a 1/2" drive.
Another question...
Can one purchase just the new bracket without the PHID's? I already have the lights from a previous GB and am interested in the brackets only.
If I have to buy another set of HID's my next question is.....
Has anyone put two set's on their bike? :D :D
What if you were to use 2 pieces of material and mate the sticky sides together to form a double sided shield? No more worries about the paper backing and the glue messin' things up. It seems to me the insulation would do it's job better if it were facing down towards the engine.
How thick is...
Wish I had that information a couple of weeks ago. :beee:
How can he be that much less than anyone else? How do I contact Gary for future purchases and where is he located.
Another vote for the Oxtar Matrix.
I used to carry a second pair of shoes on weekend trips for when I was off the bike. With the Oxtars I don't need to because they are great to walk in... and my "off bike" jeans can fit over them while all my riding leathers fit nicely inside.
New wheel got here today :P
So I had already figured I could use the old bearings/seals...but wasn't sure, so my question is how much work is involved in exchanging bearings plus the rotor and anything else over to the new wheel? I was going to take everything to my dealer but thought I...
You are so right...I checked out the site on the link below ...and was totally blown away. I think this is where most get them repaired. $140 is cheap compared to a new wheel and after reading all the stuff on the site I would feel safe with the repair. Bottom line for me is time and convience...
I just talked to Guru Glenn @ Sunnyside and he said $377 + ship for a new 04 ABS wheel. The prices are more for the 04's than for the 05's. By the way $303 is the price of a non ABS 05 wheel.
I can order and have it in a week! Thanks Sunnyside.
