    Thanks for the ride

Thanks again .... so far I'm having a great time on the Strom, on secondary roads it is one of the more neutral handling bikes I've ridden and my wife actually prefers it to the FJR as a passenger.... 80% of the time it is a better bike for me, on tight bumpy backroads it is a joy and this is...

    Thanks for the ride

Just wanted to say thank you to all the good folks here who never failed to give up good info and some friendly banter. I have moved on to a VStrom, mostly for a change of pace (slower) and the option of exploring some forest access roads around new england. thanks again Eric

    FJRF004: The 2006/7 Altitude Fix

Painman, thanks for that, I do plan to let the new ECU run things for a while and see how that goes. I read back a bit and jogged my foggin memory, the Barbarian mod is done to the harness, the ECU is just plugged into that so I expect the new ECU to work just fine. Hopine the new ECU is the...

    FJRF004: The 2006/7 Altitude Fix

Ive read thru this post but still am unsure....I am going in for the new ECU, do I need to worry about my barbarian mod or will the new ECU work fine with the fiddling I did?

    Slight misfire at Idle

:yahoo: Turns out my PC111 was giving me trouble, I removed the unit and went for a little test ride... :yahoo: and all is well again. No more stumble or misfire off idle, just nice smooth power. I tried a couple maps and reset the zero position for kicks and no luck, no matter which map I...

    Slight misfire at Idle

Very good, I'll look for squirrel feces in my pilot jets first.....you get that gerbil out of your exhaust yet?? Is there a test I can do on the TPS or is this a replacement a prayer kind or job? I am going in with the PC111 map too, going to set it back to the base map just for...

    Slight misfire at Idle

Skooter....I'm talking about 2% throttle opening beyond idle, throttle just opened a wee bit. the amount you might use for a nice gentle roll out of the driveway in the morning....beyond that it runs like it should, nice and strong. Geezer, just did a TBS, caps are in place. Has new plugs. Bike...

    Slight misfire at Idle

Adding my name to this list, my 06A has developed a very noticeable stumble just off idle, with throttle just barely cracked off idle...it seems most noticeable when cold but is there when the motor is warmed up too. I have a PCIII with combined Wally map loaded which ran great for aprox 1000...

    Braking and ABS... I believe!

the rear end started fish tailing around ...... and the front end diving really unloads the rear end making it very light and easier to lock up. You clearly understand what happened....and for a moment you rode like Jorge Lorenzo!

    Throttle cable lubrication

Similiar but different, I put oil in bag, put cable end in bag with oil, rubber band around bag, tip up bag and cable, light squeeze on bag pushes oil right thru, use rag for bit of oil that gets by the seal at rubber band...you know, the older way, before aerosol came about ;]
