The RT seating is more upright than the 05 FJR but I did add bar risers. The wind protection is not as good but it goes like stink. The 06, I think, is a little more upright but I think I read the bars cannot be raised???

Isn't the RTs wet weight a little less than the FJR? I wonder if what we are talking about here is the LT?

Actually the first thing to change on the KLR is the seat. It is torture. Corbin is a great alternative. I just sold my KLR as it wasn't getting enough use. I found I put the first 1500 miles on in two weeks.... then 300 for the rest of the year. I found the riding position very uncomfortable.

Something to do with leather. I can't understand being covered neck to toe in leather and leaving the head without a helmet??? That said,I own an 883R which I think is an awesome little bike, although I rarely ride it.

I test rode a K1200R today and pretty much agree with everything fretbender said about the bike. They had one in the showroom with hardbags on it. They aren't the typical touring bags and don't look very big but I don't think that would matter because wherever you are going you are going to get...
