    ECU Reflash Question...Turned Rev Limiter

I have a question regarding the ECU re-flash - a scenario that I don't remember having come up before the re-flash. > Bike in gear - 1st., 2nd or 3rd > Clutch pulled (open),  > Stopped or rolling/coasting up to about 25~30 mph -apply throttle and rev limiter kicks in at about 4k RPM...

This is a follow up to my previous posting about reporting on how things turned after my trip out west. I am back - After 6100 mi and thousands of shifts ( 3~4k ? )over that period and lots of long, long stretches at high speeds tank-to-tank, I am happy to report that not one single issue with...

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

Just a quick follow up - Going on 450 miles, and bike is doing well post recall. Ill be picking up more miles soon. I know its not much, but I've been riding my recently completed Bandit 1200 for a bit - so a bit of 'mile sharing' going on. Cheers!

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

My recall was completed last week and I picked up this morning. I rode about 50 miles home and all seems normal. Tomorrow I'll be riding about 200 miles. My repairing dealer treated me very well, the job was completed in 4 days as promised and the bikes looks like it was never disassembled, you...

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

The EOL for the FJR is so far only in the EU - I have not seen any announcement regarding North America. As far as not doing the recall, its risky because you just don't know regardless of you you ride your bike.

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

I had a similar experience here in Orlando, I was told "to be ready to be without the bike for 30~60 days". I posted what the dealer told me and based on forum feedback I also concluded with the feeling that they didn't want the job and I found another dealer ready, willing and able to do it...

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

I found another dealer - much more responsive, they ordered the parts for me in advance and will get me in after 3 other (practrice) police FJR's. So in about 2 weeks...

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

My dealer called me to confirm my appt, and also told (advised) me to be prepared for a 30~60 day turnaround! F***!! They told me they are very busy and they are a small shop so no guarantee that my bike would be worked on 'regularly'. Yamaha has this recall as a 14 hr job by the book.    So...

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

Looking to see if anyone has had any luck with the Yamaha recall page. https://www.yamaha-dealers.com/public/web/techpubs/nhtsaPublications.html If any of you have now found your bike listed and it was not being listed before, it would be good to know. Its a way for others to know that the...

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

Update - 01/13/2021 Just passing along what I found out today regardless of accuracy. I spoke with Yamaha again just now, they answered pretty quickly. I gathered the following information according to the agent I spoke to. > The notifications and final ranges are not officially out yet...

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

Just an observation... it occurred to me to check the 10 start and end VIN ranges from the listed in the notification using the Yamaha site. > Some VINs do not come up as recalled at all - nothing found > Some VINs have other recalls such as side stand switch and air hose re-route - of...

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

As of this morning, assuming the site has been updated, my VIN (JYARP29E1#########) still does not come up as recalled - which is how it has been since I started looking at this about a week ago. Hopefully it is because the understanding is correct - my VIN falls BEFORE the first range of VINs...

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

That's how I read it as well. I would be awesome to spared from this repair.

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

That's what I was thinking too...  so although its stated that they are non-sequential, it APPEARS that at least my VIN falls before the first recall range.

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

I'm trying to understand range list. My VIN is JYARP29E1JA000481 - does that mean that is falls BEFORE "VIN Range 1" because it is JYARP29E1....?  >> VIN Range 1 : Begin : JYARP29E6GA000002 End : JYARP29EXKA000822 ✔ Not sequential
