    Any vendor discount Sidi boots?

Try Washington Cycle Works. You'll need to call them to work out the discount.

    Did anyone else notice

I'm surprised that Yamaha did not support NAFO. This situation makes me believe the problem lies at some intermediate level of management rather than Yamaha Corporate. I know from personal contact that Yamaha supported D & H when they did their hospitality event at Barber Motorsports. They...

    Radar Detector Mounting

Based on my water related experiences with a V1, I'd remove it from that position if there is a fog, much less rain! Good luck with yours!!

    T Rex sliders

Remove the existing bolt, install the slider one side at a time. There are two benefits of the T-Rex. They are longer than most; so for a parking lot tip over, there will likely be less damage to the bike. A second benefit is that they are long enough to be a foot rest on a long ride for one...

    Radar Detectors

I'm 110% in favor of RD use by those demonstrating higher performance. I just wish that we'd devote some of this energy to encouraging the manufacturers to make the damned expensive things more water resistant! While on a mountain descent in Tennessee this weekend, our group hit a quick hard...

    EOM Routes are Posted!!

:clapping: Yowza, Yowza, Yowza, :clapping: These are the best and most detailed MC Touring maps EVER!! I've never seen such skill to capture the detail of every turn point linked to the master map. Jeff's got some super skills for this stuff. He deserves a big :yahoo: HOORAY!! :yahoo...

    5 Days, 4K miles, 3 Certs

Great article! Your persistence on your IBA rides is a challenge to all of us who contemplate one in their near future. I hope to follow your example on the way to CFR. Great job!!

    Michelin PR2s back in stock

I'll be looking forward to your comments. Based on a Price versus Performance comparison; I think it will be damned hard to beat the Dunlop RoadSmarts. If memory serves, you've had two sets of those to evaluate. Maybe you'll have some good reviews by the time of EOM. Tear 'em up!!

    Glitch after oil change

I've been running Amsoil 10W40 since the 600 mile change and have no shifting problems with my '08. It also clutchless upshifts as smooth as my Gixxer. Give the stuff a whirl for comparison's sake. It is comparatively cheap when purchased by the case from Amsoil.

    T-Rex Frame Sliders

I bought them because they are longer than the competition and a lot cheaper. They do have an inner metal core along with a heavy duty bolt; so I expect they will survive a tipover (while giving better protection than the short stuff). Fundamentally, they were a great buy. As a former racer...

Almost Beyond Belief what this Kid did!

This is a tremendous contribution by a young man with a big heart. Remembrance well done!

    fjr1300 Gear oil.

Amsoil has pubilished one of their "White Papers" for Gear Oil that concludes that their stuff ( NO SURPRISE HERE ) and Mobil 1 75W90 are the top rated gear oils among their comparison products. The report is a good read if you're into this sort of stuff. It offers up a bunch of test results...

what is the quietest helmet for the fjr?

I have found a Nolan N102 to be a quiet helmet among the flip ups. It is also very comfortable. That helmet in combo with a Cee Bailey +2+4 reverse contour flip shield and S plug in ear canal headphones gives me a very quiet ride and the ability to listen to music and Miss Zumo.

    CFR - Getting There

Thanks a lot for the routing suggestions. It looks great on S & T. I'm going to be doing an IBA BunBurner on the way up from Georgia. It will be a real treat to relax after that with some beautiful water views. I'll transfer to Mapsource for the Zumo later on. Again, thanks for your effort...

    OK, where's Gixxer Corner?

This particular corner has a bit of history associated with it. When the Ducati 916 first appeared on the market; it wasn't long before a dude from Michigan trailered his new Duc down to JAWJA with a view toward showing us local boys how to ride. Well, he tore up the roads over Friday and...

    Throttlemeister Cruise Control

I have TM's on both bikes and find them to be both functional and attractive. They also have greater bar end weight than stock and help to minimize vibration at the bars. My experience with them is that they should initially be set up to be quite firm. Wet down the rubber expansion...

    New 2008, First Questions

I'm surprised to hear firm rules against trail braking being offered here. I agree that getting your proper speed set before the corner entry is a desirable practice. However, it seems to me that every rider on serious sporting equipment riding at sporting speeds NEEDS to have the ability to...

    Rally Calendar

There will likely be 6 to 10 FJR's at the Nolichucky Valley Ralley in Erwin, TN running from July 31 to August 3. Come join us as the roads in this area are terrific and lightly traveled. Rally Site Riders in this group are generally as capable, safe, and fast as you'll typically find among...

Wide open sweepers or tight twisties

When I feel I am "pushing" a hot pace on the feejer or my GSXR, I notice that I have to fight a tendency to tense up in the shoulders, arms, and hands. This upper body tension at the bars results in one side of the body "fighting for control" at the bars with the result that the bike appears...
