Zumo 550 - Electrical connections problem

Good Lord! Based on what you say your experience is, unless someone offers to come over and give you a hand find a good independent car stereo installer and have them help you. I hate to say this but a little knowledge is a dangerous thing (and expensive)! I used to teach electronics to high...

How can a new guy protect the engine and fairing?

I bought a pair of the polished aluminum ones but have since replaced them with the OEM ones. I gave them to Canucklehead biker https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?showuser=13964 to give to anyone who might need them. Shoot him a pm he might still have them. -worney

    What determines MAX RPM

Good timing and a bad memory on my part... Sometime in the past 4/5 months in of the m/c mags I have bought talked about this very question in their repair section q and a. They stated that it was piston speed, which relates to the force exerted on all of the engine internals. I'll try to...

    Enough with the near hits

I cannot comment on the legal issues. All I can say is that for some reason when I am on my black '08, wearing my Olympia Hi-Vis jacket and silver Multi-Tec helmet, with my headlight modulator on (high-beam), traffic moves out of the left lane in front of me and some people have even pulled...

    Electrical output o euopean FJR

I count 7 relays under the seat @!@# That is not a puzzle I would want to trace. On the other hand I know people who do those huge multi-thousand piece puzzles with the repeating pictures for "fun" so I guess there is a "type" that would find that kind of thing enjoyable. -worney

    Rear fender extender

You can find them on a UK owners site that seems to sell to people who pay a yearly membership fee. I spotted it recently so it is around but I followed a series of links to get ther and can't seem to find it now. I have no other info on the sit. If I do see it again I'll post it but don't give...

    Fork gaiters

I bet that those wouldn't fit with the Gen 2's mounted bug deflectors. I was thinking of those type as well but thought that they wouldn't work. IMHO :(

    Tapp USB

Nope, the one that I have looks like the original posted. The one you pictured looks like it might in fact be easier to mount. The problem with the original posted is that there is no "nice" way to finish off the mounting. It has to stick up out of the panel in order to use the weather cap...

    Tapp USB

I saw this in Canadian Tire up here in the great white north and bought one. It is in my toolbox because it isn't the easiest thing to try and mount. The weatherproof cap will only fit if the socket sticks up about 1/2 inch so not the best to try and fit in one of the dash panels. I may end up...

A useful farkle for motorcyclists traveling armed

FYI - cops cannot carry handguns while off duty in Canada (except if they are on-call, usually special units canine, swat, etc.) so don't even try to bring one across the border.

    Calgary Tech Day

Another thanks for the "help" from Jeff (canucklehead-biker) :clapping: I put the help in quotes because other then a few bolts and screws I mostly watched as he told me what he was doing. But, I now think that I actually could do the job on my own if I had to, which was certainly...
