I have had my Gen I Givi rack break - see the thread here: https://www.fjrowners.ws/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?p=46358#46358 The new Givi racks don't have the same weak point, and I would definitely go the Givi route again. I am actually in the process of doing so for my '08.
