    stock seat mods by Spencer,s

Roadhammer here, just an update on my mod by Spencer: We just finished a 3100 mile ride from St Petersburg ,Fl to Santa maria, Ca. The ride was very satisfactory. LD riding was comfortable with 400 to 500 mile days. I will give Frank a strong recommedation. This is a seat of the pants...

    stock seat mods by Spencer,s

My bride has decided that the rear seat was too much for long hauls and I was ready to try something different on the front. After reading on forum about Spencers I gave him an e-mail for info. Info was concise, to the point and sounded too good to be true. We sent off the seat and got it back...

    Coolant replacement

fwiw, I used the Havoline dex-cool. before filling I completed the FJR "********" as found in FJRTech. I was pleased with the result and I like the idea of a 12 month cycle as a periodic service. The bike seems to run cooler than before and this with La Florida heat. Normally two bars at...

Boy, that looks great and you lost a fair amount of topside weight. Where did you get it from? I really liked the left side look and I now understand more fully a 4 into 1 system. Thanks to all Roadhammer

fjr ignition key cover for moisture/rain control

Roadhammer and the quest for a simple moisture barrier for the ignition key. The answer is too easy; just go to the spice section of your nearest grocery store and get a spice bottle with a cap with a inside diameter of 29.72 mm. Keep the spice for your beloved and cut the inside threads down...

    BT-21's

fwiw, I just put on 021s and have about 120 miles. yes, there is a noise on the front but it seems to abate at higher speeds. The tires are rock steady and work well in the rain.I tried raising the tp to 40/41 still had the road noise. It reminds me of same type of road noise I found on the...

    Spider Net

bungee cords can be a bear. My wife and I were riding our 92 R100 out side of Houston at 0400hours and had our jackets bungeed on the rear. They slipped back and down were caught in the rear tire at 70 mph. The rear wheel locked up due to jackets seizing on the monolever, bike skidded /...

Has your 1st gen FJR been repaired for "The Tick"??

Mine is a 2004 with no problems at 20000 miles. Runs quiet. A thought; I would be interested in how many of the tickers were running synthetic oil vs regular oil. The synthetic stuff has a higher capacity to endure heat and possibly wear. Thoughts? regards Roadhammer
