    Ride to Colorado

Check out the rides that I recommend in the link in my signature block. Includes maps, photos, etc. If just Colorado, then check my 10-days in Colorado and pick and choose which roads you want to include. Saturday we did a 500-mile loop (Taste-of-Colorado aka Butt-kicker) and had an awesome...

Thought y'all might like to see this photo

Take note of the redline on the GW vs the FJR. If the FJR was geared like the Wing the top speed would be, well, very high.

Corbin seat owners for the 2006

Did 500 miles of twisties and sweepers yesterday -- no interstates. Longest ride on the Corbin on my 2006. I felt pretty good and I think it is going to work well. As an aside, also got caught in a major hail storm and ended up with about 3 inches of hail on the road -- just a little more...

Corbin seat owners for the 2006

I have CORBIN, which appears with either the smuggler or the stock rear seat installed. On yours the CORBIN must be stiched a little too far towards the rear. Strange. I Like both my seat and the smuggler. 2006.

    SpeedoHealer

My 06 is a little off, but nothing like what you indicated. At 85 indicated I am actually going about 82 per the GPS, so not too bad. For me not worth trying to make any correction -- I can do that in my mind (well, most of the time).

    I'm PISSED !!

I was coming back through Walden in northern Colorado on Tuesday and ran in to three guys from the Connecticut area that were traveling to the Tahoe area. One of them was on an 06 FJR, so we struck up a conversation (I was on my Wing as I was coming back from a trip with friends to the Tetons)...

    Alaskan Trip Photos

Here's to the continuing free spirit of Ron Melton -- he will be missed. Enjoy his great photos -- he was living life to the fullest, as should we all.

    Yamaha Lock in Corbin Smuggler?

I received my Corbin Smuggler for my 2006 and really like it. It sure will be nice to have a handy area for storing a few things. Since the key and lock that comes with the Smuggler is different than the Yamaha, has anyone successfully installed or had installed the Yamaha lock that is...

    Passing of Ron Melton

Sad, sad news. Ron and I had a number of great exchanges on the GL1800 board and I was looking forward to hopefully hooking up with him one of these days on the FJR. My thoughts and prayers with Roy's family.

    So long new 2006 FJR!

All very interesting. I love my 06 FJR. In fact, I really like that the throttle is so resposive. On my 1800 Wing, I have to really turn the throttle a lot to get the responsiveness -- twist, then twist more. With the FJR, I can go from off to full throttle in one twist -- I actually like...

    On Loveland Pass Today

I stand corrected...and corrected...and corrected...and corrected. I thought that with the linked brakes that this would be much harder to do...and corrected...

    On Loveland Pass Today

Okay, I know the photo would have been better with just the FJR and without me, but I could not resist getting a couple of shots at the top of Loveland Pass, Colorado, on our ride today. Obviously, me and my FJR. And one of the guys in our club, showing off on his Valkyrie. Can't do this...

FJR spotted on hwy 92 outside Crawford Colorado

Fred -- it wasn't me, really! Actually, Toyo and I were on that stretch of road on Tuesday. Just some awesome riding and scenery. Hope you are having fun.

    Deer hit.

The story and photos were of my friends Roy and Heidi -- they belong to our motorcycle club (Colorado High Country Cruisers) and we've done a lot of riding together, including several long trips. Roy is a very good rider, but boy, he was really lucky here. The Valk was totaled, so they are...

    06 heat problem

I've been riding my 06 now for a few weeks and no issue with the heat. In fact, I'm amazed at how they have controlled the heat. Now, I have not set in traffic at 98 deg and have the fans kick on, but when riding, no issues (or at least no moe than any other big bike). You want to talk heat...

How do you remove windshield W on a 2006?

I searched and could not find the answer for some reason. Shop manual makes it looks like it just slides up to get to the screws/bolts for the windshield. So, how do you remove the W cover on the windshield? 2006 FJR. Thanks!

Disconnecting the Auto-park Windshield Function on 06

So it is that one. Thanks Fred. Dave
