Carbon Fiber Hexacones on the way...

Keep an eye on the CF when you first get them. Some of the early titanium Hexacones had bubbling problems on the CF portions of the exhaust. No pictures, but I did make a video of the Hexacones if you haven't heard them yet:

    Rode my friend's C14

I've tracked every fuel stop via log book on my '04 since I bought it. I've never gotten below 40 mpg. I usually get 42 mpg during daily commuting, and 48-52 mpg while touring. Even last summer during warp speed (extended 90+ mph) portions of Nevada I got about 46 mpg with full bags, tank...

As a forum administrator elsewhere when one person contacts me and wants me to figure out why they can't post this or access that 100% of the time it's something on their end and there's nothing I can do for them or do about it. Not sure what being a police officer has to do with it.

    Miles per Gallons

I typically get 42-52 depending. Your numbers sound reasonable.

    Sad Day Today

    1) Have the dealer make it right (replace mirror, plastic, whatever). 2) Never take your bike to a dealer for routine service. 3) Ride :)

Is the FJR the culmination of your dreams in a motorcycle?

As an overall, everyday bike...it's pretty close. I can see myself owning my 2004 for a lot longer...unless something really compelling comes along (C14 wasn't it). I'm waiting to see what the Gen III offers when it rolls around. :clapping:

    5 - Star Service?

Rear = disk always on the right. (BTW, how many bikes have a drive of any kind NOT on the left side?) Front = cast markings. You're right tho, "to be fair" a Yamaha dealer should know how to mount tires on FJR rims. Maybe I should just set my expectations in the dirt. :clapping:

    5 - Star Service?

Sounds par for the course. I took my wheels in to the local Yammy dealer (with tires in tow of course) during lunch last week. Mount prices were high with my own tires of course. Came back at 4:30 or so. Front tire mounted correctly, and balanced. Rear tire mounted backwards. :blink...

    FJR's 3 year upgrade

A good time for Yami to take a clear lead in the growing ST market then. B) One can hope, right? An update FJR is at the top of my bike list. I was going to get a 2008, but black (tho beautiful) just wasn't an option for me living in the PNW. Thing would look like a pig all but a few...

Vmax motor in the FJR? That would be fun!! :clapping: But would never happen. But if it did I'd upgrade. B)

What have I got in an FJR?

What's an "F1"? (Nevermind, I looked above) The FJR is deceptively quick, but it's not all that "fast" when compared to other sportbikes. I think I've had mine up to 140 and the windshield was a floppin' and it didn't feel all that stable compared to something like a Busa that is...

    FJR to Prudhoe Bay Alaska

If a Busa can make it up there, an FJR can. :D
