    GenMar vs Heli bar clamp

I just found out about that. Silly me. I missed the book, the movie, and the musical when they came out. Must have been off riding.

The Million Mile Challenge. Who's In?

I'm doing this early on Sunday so I'm sure more miles will appear. Total to here is 389931.6. Maybe we could start a mini-movement and get the mods to pin this thread! Cheers

    Confessions of a Technique Freak

This originally appeared in www.midliferider.com "Watching you ride is like watching water fall." As a technique freak, it might be the nicest thing anybody has ever said to me. I'll have to ask my shrink why, but forever I've been interested in technique, probably past the point of...

    GenMar vs Heli bar clamp

There are risers--small blocks that bolt between the top clamp and the bars, and then there are one-piece top clamps that move the bars up and back. The risers are less expensive and minutely easier to install; the replacement clamps are more expensive, and because they are massive and one...

URGENT! NAFO ROOM BLOCK IS SOLD OUT!

I may be able to help out. I thought I was going to attend but now won't be able to. I have a room for the whole thing. If someone can figure out how to do this, they can have mine. I'm going to undo my reservation this week . . .

Book Review: Jupiter's Travels by Ted Simon

This first appeared in www.midliferider.com Ted Simon sits comfortably at the table reserved for motorcycle Gods, "long distance division." I say "comfortably" in reference to his unassailable adventure credentials and iconic book Jupiter's Travels. By every account I've read he's actually a...

    Suomy Vandal Review

Thanks for the link. I don't think I've ever worn a helmet that wasn't noisy so it's hard to really tell the differences. I wear ear plugs when I ride, but by the end of a long day, it still wears on you.

    Suomy Vandal Review

Originally appeared in www.midliferider.com I'm a fan of Suomy helmets. I like how they fit. I like how they're made. I like it that they're kinder to your head in a get off than anything carrying a current Snell rating (for more on this, see my essay on helmets). For the past year or so...

Conversation with Keith Ellis, US Importer of Furygan Leathers

This originally appeared at www.midliferider.com. Fun interview with the guy who imports Furygan leathers, which I would heartily recommend to anyone. Great gear. I started wearing Furygan leathers last year. I bought them for several reasons. * A friend was wearing them and I thought they...

    Another Cycleport Review

This first appeared in www.midliferider.com I've been wearing cycleport gear for two years now. I bought my first jacket and pants after a low speed get-off wore holes in a fancy set of Dainese textile gear. Maybe I had the concept wrong, but I was expecting more abrasion resistance than I...

The Million Mile Challenge. Who's In?

Glad to have you as part of the party. This isn't scientific and we're not registering this with any authority other than ourselves. If you figure out previous miles, post them.

The Million Mile Challenge. Who's In?

Colin, you are my hero. An FJR, a Brutale, and now this? I want to be you when I grow up. I don't want to be you halfway through that ride. Your body must have been talking to you!
