2005 Gen 1 ABS bike. Brake question

Time to get back to my rear brake ABS issue. My damn service manual has no mention of ABS so I guess no help there. Someone mentioned that I should check the ABS fuse first to see if that failed. I did not know there was one and have no idea where to find it. Any comment on that? I'm suspect...

    Pie Day

Dave, oh great pie man of the world! Would you extend your worldly knowledge to sharing some pie secrets from your journeys to Arizona. I have yet to discover great pie and kneel to your wisdom for advice to correct this terrible injustice. Forever in your debt. Ralph

2005 Gen 1 ABS bike. Brake question

Ray, the wheel looks normal so nothing obvious. Tried it several times today and the ABS is not working so I guess I will pull it apart in the next few days at home. Difficult to tell if the front ABS is working when loaded up so I after I get everything off I will test it.

2005 Gen 1 ABS bike. Brake question

I've always believed both my brakes activated the ABS system when used alone. Today I hit the rear a bit hard and the wheel locked up surprising me. 2 days ago, (900 miles ago) I had a new rear tire installed by a big dealer in Jackson MS, on Wed, and I guess I'm wondering if the ABS to the...

    Need Help Leaving DC Area

Using Metro is clearly the best answer when you are near the city. You can stay out of the congested area, not worry about traffic, construction, detours, parking, etc ,etc. Easy, cheap, stress free access to almost anywhere you want to go. I did this in '14 on my big ride, both in DC and New...

Eastbound on I-10 thru Houston, TX tomorrow and want to know best bypass route

Went pretty smooth, used the HOV lane as much as I could which helped me a lot the last 2 or 3 ,isles into downtown as I could see traffic bumper to bumper stopped below me. The lane dumped me into city streets downtown but it was easy to jump back on I-10 east and traffic was easy from there...

    IPhone alternative to SPOT Tracker?

Thanks to everyone for the contributions to my tracking questions. I have set up SWConnect and Spotwalla, with the gracious help of Jason and Ray! Hopefully family and friends can follow my route easily since my habit of solo riding makes some of them a bit nervous. Ralph

    IPhone alternative to SPOT Tracker?

Looks like I will check out SWConnect in the next day or so and give it a try. Should have populated areas for the route so I expect cell coverage to be adequate. Really liked the SPOT system for my long ride a couple years ago.

    IPhone alternative to SPOT Tracker?

Starting a 3 week ride next weekend from Tucson to Key West and return. Reluctant to re establish my SPOT account and paying for tracking etc, if there are some reasonable cell phone alternatives since there is likely to be coverage for the entire route. Has anyone used another system...

Replace my Zumo 550 with ?

Looks like my Zumo 550 will no longer read the SD card with my full set of NA maps. So, what do I replace it with? Trying to stay in a $350 +/- budget. Refurb 395? Refurb 595? Damn...

Winter NW BBQ Get Together Portland Area

We moved here full time last June and love it here. Yes, it would have been great to see you and ride. Nice pictures, have not seen several of the areas you rode to and look forward to learning about them. Hoping to make a little run over to Key West and back in Feb.
