Rear axle doesn't slide out easily

Apply a thin film of grease and then rotate the axel as you remove it. That seems to work for me. Mac

    Through the looking glass...

I use a Cee Bailey with a flip and I look over the screen and I am in still air. I would hate to have to look thru the screen. For your info I am 6 ft tall. Mac

    ECU

Just in case you don't get your new ECU in time for the mountain ride , keep this in mind. Wide open throttle every once in awhile or stopping and turning the bike off will do the same thing and adjust your old ECU to a new altitude. Mac

    Sidecar

I'm not saying not to buy the hack but if you do I would highly recommend that you take a side car class. I didn't and have a bummed up left knee for the rest of my life. The chair will fly on a hard right turn and will tip over on a hard left turn . I still have mine, a Ural, but I am a lot...

Poll: Average age of an FJR rider

I voted for your poll but I have a question. Why do you lump anyone above 60 all in one group. Is it that when we hit 60 we just count as old farts and probably should not be riding. . Why not continue and get the real facts. Have a 61 to 70 and 71 to 80 and 81 to 90 group...

Atlantic to Pacific & Beyond Trip

Unless you are really short on time, I would not ride the interstate. What a boring ride. Get off on state roads and enjoy not just the scenery but meeting the locals in gas stations and resturants. You will find its nice once in a while to stop at a red light just so you can put your feet...

    strange idle

I would suspect that all the bikes will do that. When you rev the engine, before it is warmed up, and then let it idle it will drop back to the idle it would hold when warm and it is not ready for that and the engine will die. It's too cold outside now or I would try mine. Mac

    I guess I'm getting old

Well I am not TurboDave but I am 73 yrs old so I hope that that qualifies me. You are right , I just wish I was 62 again , I was on top of the world then. However when you turn 73 , hey what am I saying, I still can ride at any speed I feel like and for as long as I like. A lot of getting older...

    mounting my street pilot 2730

Why not just plug into the cig. lighter socket in your glove box. Thats what I did and when I remove the GPS I just leave the cord there. There is a hole in the bottom of the glove box with a grommet in it, just remove the grommet , make a cut in it and then install on your power cord and then...
