What did you do to your FJR today?

Installed DATEL volt meter. Rode to work. Just missed getting creamed by lane changing cage. Typical day.

    NorCal/Bay Area/Sac Shops

Roseville sounds like the likely option. I was hoping for Livermore, Pleasanton, Walnut Creek area but good service and trust is most important. Thanks all.

What did you do to your FJR today?

Installed a small power distribution block switched by the (disconnected) auto windshield retract plug. Works good! Also added a RAM mount that attaches to the brake/clutch clip on bolts.

    NorCal/Bay Area/Sac Shops

After reading the electrical horror story in the Valley of the Sun (Phoenix area) and seemingly only one shop was really recommended by the locals.... got me to thinking about my area and where to go for the service I don't have the time or inclination to do. There are a fair number of shops...

    I can see!....behind me!

Mine weren't floppy at all and stayed put until I backed into one, yes by accident, and found out that it folded. After folding it a couple of times, on purpose, it did start to feel like it was going to fall apart. I pulled the rubber back and found that it is very cheaply held together by a...

Added Rifle tuning block to CB shield

Rifle still makes the tuning block cuz I just got one..... ;) Washers would not create the same angle, offset perhaps so. I'm still happy with the improvement after using this combo for a while. I'm toying with the idea of trying a CalSci windshield since I only live about 90 min away from...

    I can see!....behind me!

Not sure what you mean by the "downfall of the EMGOs" and not staying in position. When I took these apart, there are steps in the folding mechanism that lock it in place with some odd little domed "springs" around the bolt that keeps things from moving easily. If the FZ1 mirrors break on a...

My Impressions of the MV Motorrad Bar Riser

Do you recall the size/thread of bolt for that? Seems like the perfect spot for a RAM mount.

What did you do to your FJR today?

Finally figured out how to listen to music/use my cell phone while also using my 2m radio all at the same time on the way home from work. Sweeet. Also figured out I could switch the direction of the pads on my Pit Bull stand and it now works for the FJR! Duh. :dribble:

    I can see!....behind me!

I got a pair of the EMGO's to use till I found a deal on the real thing but so far am happy with these. I was surprised to find out they actually fold back as well. The mechanism is crap though so I replaced the pressed on "bolt" with the real thing and it works fine. It's good to have a jar...

Who has a line on fresh HOT MEAT?!

Just picked up a set of P2's for $258.95 shipped at Sportbiketrackgear.com FYI

SHAD Top Case SH48 or SH50?

I really like my Shad 48 on my '03. Don't carry passengers so no comment there. I've got it on a Givi rack and really like the features and price. The 48 has a lot of room and 50 just didn't make sense for the extra cost.

    Front end wobble

Thanks all! Never had an issue with any bike before. Could be that riding the Duc the past ten years has changed my riding habits some. The FJR has Dunlop Sportmax fore and aft. Have only had the bike a couple of months but now after taking a closer look at the tire, I will not feel bad...

    Front end wobble

I like to have a relatively light touch on the grips. Most noticeably at between 40 and 50 mph, the bars begin to oscillate increasingly till I tighten up. :o It's not noticeable with "standard" grip pressure, just when I lighten up to almost nothing. I don't see any marks where the wheel...

Added Rifle tuning block to CB shield

My, new to me, '03 came with a Cee Bailey shield. Not sure of the height but I can check if anyone is interested. (21" I think) I was getting a lot of buffeting, on the bike itself, with the shield up enough at speed to give me a fairly quiet cockpit. There was also noticeable turbulence around...

    CalSci Medium review

Very nice job. I have a CB, I believe, that came with my '03 and need to do something about the back pressure and turbulence. Might try the rifle tuning block first. Thanks for the review!

    What a mess!

The clutter is mostly for the Ham radio and commute stuff. All easy to remove for the leisurely or twisty ride.

    Being Seen

Ha! Not too cool really, just like tinkering and not spending money on stuff I "think" I can do! :dribble:

    What a mess!

Yes it's an ugly mess. The Escort is normally out of site in the bag or switched places with the GPS display. Going to try and clean things up a bit by getting everything into one bag. On order.... https://www.amazon.com/Firstgear-Laguna-GPS-Tank-Backpack/dp/B002KPJ25C

    Being Seen

I'm in the process of adding Hyperlites to the back and will probably do a headlight modulator for the front. It's all about managing risk IMO. Dangling Hyperlites and obvious(with the flash) 3M tape kit. Took the reflectors off the license plate bracket and made some little plates to...
