Do you all get “challenged” at stop lights?

It's a moot point for me. Even if I accept the challenge, I'd likely lose.  When the light turns, the first thing I'm doing is waiting 0.5 seconds to allow the red-light runners to clear the intersection. And everybody knows that in a drag race, a half a second is eternity.....

    Gen 3 shock replacement

Biquer - would you mind sharing the cost of rebuilding your shock?

How Fast Can an FJR-1300 Accelerate?

I enjoyed the write up, and took it in the spirit for which it was written.  The FJR's torque curve is very flat.  The motor is designed (and overwhelmingly hasn't been changed in almost 20 years) to haul the load and pull fairly evenly across the (relatively) short powerband.   But Walter's...

    Cars, hurricanes, insurance, and replacements.

Don't assume that your claim prescription period has passed.  The year starts when the breach happens - that can be grey.  Also, FL laws may be different on this and COVID may have some regulation that exempts this for you. If you have their certificate of insurance, file a contract liability...

Was your GC licensed and insured?  If so, have you filed a complaint with the State licensing board?  Have you filed a Contractual Liability claim with the GC's underwriter BEFORE 4/2021 (1 year)? This is taking entirely too long - I'm sorry you are having these problems.

FJRForum Official 2021 Iron Butt Rally Tracking/Analysis Thread

Matt - thank you very much for your OP in this thread.  Extremely helpful for this "watcher". Now to try and balance this with the rest of the world.

That's close enough. The photo was taken on Elk River Road, which is very close to the community of Roan Mountain.  The falls are the Elk River Falls, and they are not to be missed.  The "road" hint I offered is Hwy 19E, which is a great Appalachian road. Next....

    Feej and the pirates

I'm not riding behind open pipes.  Too friggin loud.  Next opportunity, whether you like it or not, I'm going around you. Now, if the pirate's exhaust is reasonable, I don't settling in behind at a safe distance.  If I see the pirate pushing their limits, then usually I'll back off so as not to...

    Name That Place Game

This little section of highway leads you to one of the finest waterfalls in all of Appalachia.  It's a short ride off of a popular highway that runs in and out of Tennessee and North Carolina.  Near this place is a mountain that is popular to roan about.

Well - I think I got it. The body of water is Bull Shoals, and the bridge is the one on Hwy 160 crossing it.  This Spring, I learned that while Northwest Arkansas is (and always will be) excellent riding, southern Missouri is pretty good too.

Well Doug, I most assuredly stand (or ... type) corrected.  The answer was from a section of Hwy 141 that I did not ride.  I went south from the intersection of Hwy 90 to Cortez. My most humble apologies, sir....

    Concours or FJR

Tim - I would agree with you regarding performance needs.  The 1/4 mile number is kind of neat, but in reality, what I want is torque between 2,000 and 5,000 rpm.  That is where I ride 99.5% of the time.

I'd disagree regarding Hwy 128, as the Colorado River is not apparent in the picture, a dead giveaway for that road. Dougie - I'd be surprised if this is CO 141.  Again, no river in sight (Delores River) and that road has more trees.

That looks like Hwy 191 near Arches N/P?

Didn't get that far north into Missouri during our last Arkansas extravaganza.  I'm thinking next time we should take a side trip into MO.

Is this Hwy 58 in Virginia, and the wild horses would be the ponies at Grayson Highlands State Park? That is a fantastic place - Damascus is one cool town. (if so, then I HAVE been there, twice!)

Correct.  There is not much to them, but they do stick out in a terrain that is incredibly flat and tree-less. Next....

    Name That Place Game

Good guess, but that is not correct.  You do have the State identified, and since your guess was not correct, a simple check of the map should do the trick. Edit to add:  my apologies for not replying sooner.  Been too busy fishing and riding!!
