    Name That Place Game

OK - it's time to reveal the answer.  Maybe I cranked up the difficulty a bit too much? The road from my last picture is known by 3 names: J-37 Wagner Road Yokohi Road In 2017, we left Ridgecrest, CA with every intention to ride the Lake Isabella Road (Hwy 155) in route to Giant Sequoia...

    Name That Place Game

1911 - you are just luke warm, a few hundred miles off, depending on where on 140 you would be referring to. One of the "Giants" is Sequoia National Park. Per Goodman's rules, and with deference to Ross (he guessed it correctly in a PM), I'll hold until 8 am tomorrow (48 hours), unless someone...

    Name That Place Game

Ok - one last hint: This road is in California (not Minnesota), and one of the Giants in the previous clue is a national park.

    Name That Place Game

To clarify, Ross knows where this is.  He figured it out quite intuitively.  But he wishes to play fair, and thus, he won't guess in this thread. Let me sweeten the pot.  Doug - this road is in your home State.  And the Giants to which I refer to are awe inspiring.  They simply must be seen to...

Ross - thank you for playing fair - shall we give our friends a day to mull it over?  If you agree, I'll answer their post with "warm or cold".  If not, feel free to post your guess. As a side note, unlike my friend 1911, Pants has THOUSANDS of ride report pictures going back 10 years.  I've...

    Name That Place Game

I believe I'm up, so me thinks (hopes) I will crank up the difficulty a bit on this one, revealing one of my off the beaten path roads found not to be missed.  Fair warning:  Google has this road, but you've got to be looking for it.  .At this place, I experienced one of the most fond memories...

    Name That Place Game

Duane - your hint was spot on.  I have been through there for this exact reason (avoid large cities), but admittedly, I have not stopped there.  This is Veteran's Overlook near Bean Station, TN.  Passed it on the way to Cumberland Falls, KY.

    Name That Place Game

I've not been in California north of Napa.  Nor any of Oregon.  Mark that one down for future reference.

    Name That Place Game

Doug, no - not even close to Bear Lake. Goodman has nailed it, per expectations. Josh and I were freestyling it generally east after YFO2017.  During lunch, I did what I do - check the map and look for twistiest path.  I noticed the State map indicated that Mt. Candland was 10,xxx feet.  It...

    Name That Place Game

Funny - I don’t remember it being that far northwest.

    Name That Place Game

Fred - it's possible you are warm, but not likely.

    Name That Place Game

Let me sweeten the hint pot a bit: 1.  This road and area exceeds 10,000 feet. 2.  That body of water has ties to the Rock-n-Roll Hall of Fame.

    Name That Place Game

Yippie!!! Here's a little gem Cav47 (Josh) and I found wandering around.  First Hint:  This is not your usual Utah

    Name That Place Game

I believe that is what they call the Shiprock, outside of Tucumcari, NM.  I've been there, and I've gazed at it, and to this day, I cannot see the "ship" in the rock....

    2022 FJR?

Without consideration for the Euro5 emissions standard, it seems unlikely to me that Yamaha would be any R&D into a re-designed FJR.  And we know the current motor is not compliant.

    Name That Place Game

I camped by myself at Hite once.  The sunset (and following sunrise) is something that I shall never forget.  Unfortunately, I didn't recognize the bridge.

    Name That Place Game

I wasn't able to make out the wording "within the red circles" - but I was going to guess a place in West Virginia on Hwy 219 that I've been to with Intech.  Was I warm?

    Fork problem

That bolt is not to drain the forks.  It is used to hold the piston and dampening rod assembly. I can't fault you for not following the book, because when I service FJR forks, I don't follow the book either.

Wheels Through Time Loses Its Founder

Indeed, he was a really cool guy.  The 2nd time I went to the museum (to bring a friend), Dale caught me eyeing the Crocker he had on display.  Understand that I didn't know a thing about those motorcycles, but I thought it was a good looking bike.  Dale informed me that it was super rare and...

    Name That Place Game

It is one of the sisters in Hill Country.  I can't be 100% certain, but I think it was actually Hwy 337 between Leakey and Vanderpool.  And no - that was not Redfish Hunter, it was another friend with an ST13 with me. Goodman - you're up!
