    Excuuuse Me!

That pretty much made my weekend. I'll be giggling and snickering for a week now. :drinks:

    Cleaning your bike

No kidding. I use some Dawn and my hand to get the bugs off the windshield & headlights, rinsing occasionally with a garden hose. I raise the windshield. wash inside, then blot dry with paper towels. I spray windshield and headlights with Plexus, wipe off with the microfiber towel, and I'm done...

    Check your tires!

I found installing high quality valves (the aluminum 90deg ones) and cleaning the rim REALLY well when I change my tires makes a HUGE difference. Now I check my SV & FJR on the 1st of the month, and they've usually lost less than 1/2-lb from the month before.

    Very expensive bike wash

Well, personally I assumed that the grease displaced water, and that the physical wiping action of the contacts removed it from the contacts so the dielectric property wasn't an issue there, and you sure don't want to pack a connector with electrically conductive grease because that would cause...

Maintenence in gerneral and Changing the Horn: I must be getting old...

Not to highjack, but is there somewhere to get one of these in the US? I've wanted one for a long time but Chase Bank bends me over and rapes me with a sandpaper covered baseball bat for foreign transactions on my debit or credit cards. (and I don't mean ebay, I mean a real source)

    Very expensive bike wash

No kidding. I haven't washed mine since I bought it, except to get the bugs off the windshield and headlight. I'm not gay and it's not a Harley.

    Excuuuse Me!

There was one time I was behind some SUV-POS with 2 kids in the back. One kid turned around, saw me, and gave a big wave, so I waved back. So he bangs on the other guy's shoulder (older brother?) saying "he waved! he waved!" The other kid turns around, gives me a "meh" look and the first guy...

    helicoiling

OK, so what's the best way to make sure it gets threaded straight? I had that problem with my rear caliper. Do you have any secrets there? Plus what do you think of the knockoffs like Recoil, because finding true-blue Helicoils and their nice insertion tool is like finding unicorns. Even...

    rainsuit vs separate pants/jacket

My Frogg Toggs 2-piece would fine, if the pants didn't have gaping great holes for pockets! WTF? I've had to duct-tape them closed. The FTs are a lot cooler, which is a big plus in Florida summers. You don't feel like you're sweating to death in a trash bag. Plus they don't make the annoying...

    CO Adjustments

Sorry... it's release time, and I'm not getting off work 'til 8 or 9pm and then I have to grab dinner before I start gnawing on someone's leg. I'm on a "waiting for crap to compile and deploy to the stupid exadata" break right now, as a matter of fact.

    Stick on weights sliding off?

Where did you order yours? I've tried the dealership and a couple places online and they all say "not available"

    CO Adjustments

Hey, I'm on the east side of Orlando south of UCF, with an '07. I might have to work Saturday 18th for a production software rollout, but I'll be free on Sunday 19th. I assume PCM is a typo for ECM? I have the new ECM after recall with the altitude fix on it, and I also have a throttle spring...

    Battery Testing

So you guys mention Yuasa & TecMate chargers, which are probably the dog's danglies, but I have Battery Tenders and I'll bet that's what most of the forum has. What's your opinion of them vs. the Yuasa units? The cheap crap charger that came with my Sears electric mower nearly killed the...

DIY Air Induction Block Off Plates

Pulsed Air Induction Reed valve. These are the valves you're blocking off. And I gotta say I'm stealing the idea for that milling setup! Looks like something straight out of MAKE magazine!

    Well, that was strange...

 Over here, it's "you'll get my license when you pry it out of the smoking wreckage!" Some of 'em don't even bother to put on their glasses to drive. I was in the DMV when one woman threw an absolute ****-fit after she failed her vision test. Considering the quality of the vision test...

Wrong Way to do Oil and Filter change

So 3 friends reassembled a GS1100L engine with a brand new transmission, only for one of them to hold up a big thick o-ring. Which went to the oil pump. Which required the cases to be re-split to be installed. And without which... no oil pressure. Does that count?

    Phoenix Area FJR Service

Well, the crappy dealer has a "YTA Gold motorsports technician" while the good one only has bronze, according to yamaha-motor.com. Probably means about as much as a MCSE certification in the computer industry. Probably about the same as getting a good score in "suspension" at MMI... it just...

    Well, that was strange...

Yeah, but what do you do when you're just trying to get home? I got into the left turn lane at the light long before they did. There's not another route in. Not much of a choice there. I did try to stay off his butt as much as possible, but he was going really slow.

    Well, that was strange...

jpeg?? Seriously though, I was expecting just that, but I was not expecting the complete and total stop. So have you ever ridden with someone and done "oh that driver's going to cut you off. watch out, he's gonna do X" and have them go "how the hell do you figure that out so far ahead of time?"...

    Phoenix Area FJR Service

I have to agree with SkooterG here, both on this, and his opinion of RideNow dealerships. I have dealt with a ton of dealers (Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, Kawasaki & Ducati) over a long period of time (since I started riding in 1988) and maybe 15% of them could work on a bike they'd never seen w/o...
