    Too Many Things Not Working!

Back problems were from age-inappropriate behavior. No longer a problem. Now that I'm retired, I could not find 30 minutes a day to hang inverted! Best stick to FJR technical issues or we will get this thread bumped to NEPRT!

    Too Many Things Not Working!

That post was referring to the FJR but applies to me as well. However, since this is not a geriatric forum, I didn't think it was appropriate to post that part here. ;-)

    Too Many Things Not Working!

The only accessories that were added were the GPS (direct wired to battery so stays on when I stop for gas) and the MotoLites, direct to the battery (with a fuse of course) and the relay to a spare fuse. Since the MotoLites stayed on, that connection was not the problem. Replaced the 15A fuse in...

    Bar end weights removal. How?

I like the impact wrench idea. My favorite power tool is a Hitachi cordless drill/driver. As I recall, the part inside did slip a bit when slowly applying force to the wrench so I backed it off, then snapped my wrist to give an impact. Sort of like hitting it with a hammer. I did not have a set...

    Bar end weights removal. How?

If I read the OP right, he is trying to remove the bolts that hold the bar end weights on, rather than the flexible part inside. On both our 15's, I just used an L-shaped Allen key and a little bit of force. Did not need to put an extender on the wrench. There did not seem to be any Loctite on...

So, I've been away for a bit. How the heck are ya?

Well, since I'm a newb since you left(?), not sure what to include. Sold our Beemers, bought two FJR's and put 14 k miles on each this summer. Great to have you back (that "Quiet" thread!) and thanks for the help with CFR. We'll see you then if not before. Murray

    Quiet Forum These Days?

When I joined this forum, after buying two FJR's, I went looking for how-to information on quite a few topics. If memory serves me well, Fred's posts were usually the most useful. It's unfortunate that he feels unwelcome here.

    Quiet Forum These Days?

Have to say the forum is definitely 'popping' now.

    Quiet Forum These Days?

Can we have an un-moderated (or perhaps self-moderated) section of the forum for these open discussions? Seems like this thread had survived beyond where I thought it would be locked down.

CFR 2018 - WooHoo! Registration is going LIVE November 1st!

Tried to register but get an error message when going to ParPal: "Your connection is not secure The owner of personal.paypal.com has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website. Learn more…"

CFR 2018 - WooHoo! Registration is going LIVE November 1st!

Went to register but not sure how to proceed. It shows the option for a pillion but Theresa rides her own bike but is not separately a member of the forum. So do I fake a forum name for her or ?? Sorry for putting this here but I want to get registered right away and make sure we are in the lodge.

    Recommended Service Shops in NorCal

Thanks. We were pretty well ready to go to Roseville. It's more of a pain to get to from our place but we are fed up with PCP. Modesto is a bit too much of a haul from here.

    Too Many Things Not Working!

Just to clarify, the fuse they did replace was the 10 A signal system fuse, not the 1 A brake fuse. Still a 50% increase for no reason makes no sense. Bothers me that the service advisor did not get the right part. However, this is in keeping with the service we've had from them in the past...

    Recommended Service Shops in NorCal

We live in Sutter Creek, about 50 miles east-south-east of Sacramento. We are unhappy, annoyed, frustrated, P'd off... by the service we've been getting on our 2015 FJR's. I would prefer not to service the bikes myself so am looking for recommendations for shops to service the bike, and for...

    Too Many Things Not Working!

Back from the Reuben Run and parts West and have been getting the run-around from the service "advisor." When I picked the bike up, I was told the battery connections were loose and an arc blew a fuse. Hard to buy that one as the Garmin GPS which is very sensitive to electrical noise continued...

Fork Seal Leak at 21k Miles?

Thanks for the responses. First off, I'd need a lot more problems before I would even consider another BMW! Let me address the wobble and the tires, especially related to pressure. This is now the third Z8 on the front. I'd never seen this wobble with the previous tires, even when they were...

Fork Seal Leak at 21k Miles?

With just over 21k miles on my 2015 FJR1300ES, the right fork has developed a small leak. It is enough to form dust rings but there are no puddles under the bike; yet. The dealer said it's not a problem unless half the oil leaks out of the fork. Translation -- "will not be covered under...

Credit/Identity Protection: Who Do You Use?

Curious! Tyler's link would take you to lessburdens.com, not the ID Shield site. Hover your mouse over the link and it will show you the URL. This may be valid but I've seen enough fake links lately to make me check first.

Credit/Identity Protection: Who Do You Use?

Went to the EquifaxSecurity2017 site this morning and was not surprised to see I am one of those affected. Since I have the Costco IdentityGuard service, I saw no point to give Equifax any more information by signing up for their service. I did check with IdentityGuard and found that the plan I...
