Average cost for dealer-performed 600 mile service?

Whats all this talk of "changing fluids"?? It's a NEW bike, the fluids are BRAND new, my manual doesn't say to change any fluids other than oil?? I have NEVER paid a dealer for their overpriced glorified oil change and never had a warranty issue because of it. Change the oil yourself and save...

What does "Excellent Condition" really mean?

A lot of folks don't ride their bikes a lot or they have multiple bikes so many bikes have low miles. If you have doubt have the compression checked at a shop, otherwise you miss out on a lot of great bike deals since they depreciate so much. A low mileage one a couple years old is a bargain...

What does "Excellent Condition" really mean?

I learned whatever condition they say it's in it's "usually" in worse shape. I work for a Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep dealer here in So Cal and went to a customers house to bring back a trade in that was in "Average" condition......I knew I was in trouble. I've driven hundreds of cars very few scare...

Thanks for the replies again guys. Pain is getting a little better as the days pass, will be one week this Thursday and can almost lay down without pain the ribs actually hurt more to stand or walk. I can sit still without pain which is nice. If it was just the collarbone break I would only...

    Went Down Last Thursday

The emergency room doc who looked at the x-rays said everything was pretty much in place to heal or so she said. My collarbone doesn't hurt half as much as the 3 broken ribs with the rib or ribs by my heart hurting the most. I think she said I broke number 7,8 and 10 on my left side.

It's been a great bike and...

    Went Down Last Thursday

Well I'm around the same age, 54 in December. For me the ribs hurt more than the collarbone and since last Thursday the pain is a little lighter, not as painful to get up off the couch or sit down ect.... Still too uncomfortable to sleep laying down so I have to put up with waking up about...

    Went Down Last Thursday

Was on a solo ride last Thursday down SAGE RD. (R3) which runs from Hemet to Highway 79 in North San Diego Country and is pretty desolate. Was coming down a right hand curve and was slightly leaning but not much as I was only going maybe 35/40, anyway hit some sand over the road and the FJR...

    Rear Brake spongy

Ok I pumped up the brake pedal and after ONE pump it's firm for ONE push....then it gets spongy again with long travel. I'm assuming there's air in the line and/or the master cylinder is going bad but the bike only has 16,000 miles on it.....but it is a 2008.

    Yamaha FJ-09 Sport Tourer Update

When I have a chain I lube it every 400 miles or so and CLEAN it about every 1,000. My chains last over 30,000 miles.

FJR seat cover material -- very durable

As far as the comfort of the stock seats go's, I have to say the FJR has the best one of ANY bike I've ever had.

    Yamaha FJ-09 Sport Tourer Update

Depends how many miles you ride Fred. If the bike has a center stand lubing is easy, we're just spoiled from the shaft drive.

FJR seat cover material -- very durable

The real key, the Sun eats everything. Just about any material if you keep it out of the Sun will last a long time.

Cost of oil change amounts to armed robbery! Holy shitaroo!

No mustaches and less all around hairy too!

    Rear Brake spongy

Soft pedal and a lot of travel, not firm like it used to be. I'll try pumping them up as suggested to see if it helps. Thanks for the replies guys!
