    What undercut gears look like

Fred, I would think that clutchless shifting can still be accomplished without too much fuss. One may need to be a bit more precise with respect to the shift point (rpm), but I doubt most would notice the difference. Disclaimer - I have not had this done on my bike, so it's mere speculation.

    Damn stunters.

    Passing Cattle trucks

I'm in the fast-as-you-can camp. This also goes for riding when fatigued, riding in traffic, inclement weather, etc. Spend as little time on the road as possible by maximizing your speed in such situations!

Braking in a curve / Improving my riding

Bungie mentioned that my recent offroad experience was due to a "combo of target fixation and full blown panic." Yeah, if you add that I leaned on my grips pretty hard, which IMHO makes it very difficult to turn the bike. Sort of a lock-up situation. So really three things, none of which are...

    Shakin, Down, but not Out!

Is there anything the forum can do to help Cindy and/or Ian? (I mean, other than sending prayers/karma/energy.) Do they need anything we can provide? Anyone have an extra FJR lying around for when Ian gets out of the hospital?

NERDS '13 - Roll Your Own Routes

Zeke: "It's okay, man. If there's one thing I know, it's how to drive when I'm stoned. It's like, you know your perspective's ******, so you just gotta let your hands work the controls as if you're straight." . . . . Edsel: "Oh, wow, good landing, man."

The original ad was for rack pus mount at $50. How much for only the rack? (Or perhaps I was mistaken.)

    Seat Advice

The Russell was the best money I've spent on my FJR. Except for buying the bike, of course. Oh, and tire changes were pretty smart. And oil. Can't forget oil. Heh, I found nickel. Now where did I put that Vitamin R?

Me being an influence. Bad or good, I don't know.

These things practically sell themselves. GJ only gave his buddy a little nudge. Way to go Jason. I have a Gen I. I've ridden a couple of Gen I and a couple of Gen II FJR. Both generations are pretty freakin' fantastic, IMHO.

to clutch or not to clutch ?

In addition to ion's words, I'd say that when stopping behind traffic at a light, make sure you align your cycle with a clean get-away zone if at all possible. That way if an incident occurs behind you the amount of maneuvering required is greatly reduced. Just rev and release. I keep mine in...
