    2015 FJR1300ES - $9200 Metro St. Louis, MO

Thought I would post here a few days before Cycletrader, Craigslist, etc in case a forum member wants dibs. I'm still taking pictures for the other listings but you guys know what one looks like...

Interesting perspective of one BMW GS owner

Yeah, I can see how extradition laws could be a concern for some of our fellow forum members.

    FJR Hit in Scottsdale

I lived in Japan for 9 years and they had some interesting traffic laws when I was there. My favorite is that new drivers have to put green/yellow decals called "Shoshina" on the front and rear of their cars for the first year after getting a license. By law, if you wreck with one of them it's...

What's the Weather like where YOU are today?

I've been riding every day the roads aren't covered with ice or snow. So far this year that has taken me into single digit temps. Of course, I wear a heated vest and have a heated seat to go with my "barn door" winter windshield and FJR fairing. So I'm not as brave as your neighbor. At least...

Interesting perspective of one BMW GS owner

Yeah, that's halfthrottle. I love his Youtube channel. Started following it because he lived in Panama at the time (I'm considering retiring there) and has tons of great videos riding his KLR650 all over the country. The R1200GS is his "true love" and this video is him poking fun at the...

FOBO TPMS (tire pressure monitoring system) -- GROUP BUY

I added the T-valves last tire change. It has worked very well and I have only had 2 problems with it. 1) The battery life has dropped dramatically since the temps have been in single digits here lately. Not a big deal but something to be aware of if you live somewhere cold. At least they are...

Avg FJR guy Economic status: poll part III

I don't see the problem. Just answer whatever you feel like. Feeling poor this week? Less than $40k. Feeling better? Check the big box! Personally, this week I feel like a very wealthy retiree with military service and very low debt who collects planes and boats. Next time I may be poor...

What did you do to your FJR today?

I've heard of this thing called "no ethanol gas" but I haven't seen it. Living in corn country it's basically impossible to find gas that hasn't been screwed up to some degree. I know my 2-stroke engine devices wish such a thing existed here. Putting corn in gas is really asinine but its the...

    Tail of the Dragon...on a Concours 14!

Glad you enjoyed it. I'm leaving on Sunday to run over to Pennsylvania then spend the rest of the week meandering down the mountains to the dragon. Its been some 30 years since I was there. Hoping the scenery will be up to par with the good camping and great riding.

Iron Butt Texas World Capitals 1000 this Friday

Then maybe it's just as well I didn't get to try it. That max speed doesn't mean much. Mine often shows around 100 even on a short trip if I "jump on it" to make a quick pass. It's real easy to go from 65 to 95 (or higher). The GPS doesn't care how long you were at that speed.

Just arrived in my mailbox yesterday so probably not on the newsstands yet. I've actually toured with a published author?

Something about new tires coupled with a round-about before even reaching the highway wasn't it Allen?

wiring accessories, tips tricks Battery tender, heated coax

Eastern Beaver fuse box in the little channel under the pillion seat. I have the cable for heated gear tucked between the left side panel and driver seat with a battery tender/ tire pump cable coiled under the tool pouch. GPS wiring runs under the tank back to the fuse box.

Iron Butt Texas World Capitals 1000 this Friday

I really, really wanted to make that trip and try my first BBG but work is killing me lately and I'm having to bail on things left and right. It sucks! Anyway, congratulations on making your cert! I only got my first ones this year and it's something to take pride in. If it was easy it...

Lots of good riding in the Mark Twain National Forest. If you can spare the time.... - slab it to anywhere south of Arnold then cut west and catch 21 south - at Potosi catch P south - when it ends at Old Rte C make a quick right-left to get on DD south - DD ends at 32. Go west on 32 -...

    Calling adventure bike owners

Illinois isn't exactly the "home of great off-roading" but I often ride dirt/gravel levee roads and, when I can find them, forest roads like this on my FJR since it's all I have. Don't underestimate the big girl. She's obviously not a dirt bike but if you keep the speed down and show some...

    Sport/Tour selection

Well now I have to go try changing modes while moving again. Maybe I didn't have the throttle completely closed? Not that I use T mode much anyway but now I'm curious.
