    Tents, pads and bags

I like a camp chair but it's really only needed if you primitive camp. Every pay campground I've been to had a picnic table. I have a helinox chair and it is wonderful, but not required. For clothes I carry 3-4 synthetic wicking shirts that don't wrinkle or smell easily, 2 pair of durable...

    Red vs Graphite

RFH - I notice the Liquid Graphite doesn't even need pavement whereas the Candy Red has difficulty staying on the proper side of the road.

    Tents, pads and bags

I keep thinking about getting one of those but keep balking at both the price and apparent setup pain. I do love the ability to put the bike under cover or enjoy lots of rain free space so maybe someday....

    Maintenance Confessional

Probably Factory Service Manual but we should be able to come up with something better eh?

Go While You Got The Chance

Glad you're back in the saddle and taking advantage of the late winter start. Looks like a good time. I drove around down that way years ago in a car and dearly want to go back on the bike. It's in the 50s here but the bike is under a cover awaiting a seat. How was I supposed to know back in...

New HeliBar design - anyone using? Comments?

To each his own. Actually I was able to adjust it so it isn't so obvious and now I don't even notice it anymore.

help, custom message, and ok bottons spot 3

My SOS doesn't have a custom message currently but I liked BakerBoy's idea and hope I can figure out how to do something similar.

help, custom message, and ok bottons spot 3

OK - Just taking a break (food, sightseeing, etc) Custom - Settled in for the night (camping no cell coverage) Help - Bike problems but I'm fine SOS - I like the vital info idea (age, blood type, any medical issues, etc)

    East Texas in December

Wish I could be with you. It was in the 20s and windy this morning. Nothing to stop it around here.

2016 Pants Adventures - Advice, Ideas, and Input Encouraged!

Hey pants, I'm planning on heading out to the Wyoming/Dakotas area next year since I went southwest last year. Gotta mark off some states and bucket list places. Drop me a line if you decide to go that way and want some company. You know I'll be mostly camping. I hope to include Red Lodge to...

New HeliBar design - anyone using? Comments?

I consider the brake line extension like a beauty mark that keeps the bike from being unbearably good looking. Kinda like Cindy Crawford's mole.

question about brake light wiring, ABS, and a flasher module

I put a Back Off brake light modulator on my Gen3 with no problems. Just wired it between the yellow brake light wire and black ground. My ABS definitely still works. I know because I "tested" it! ;)

Heated seat question - especially Laam owners

He has my seat and told me he expects to start on it Monday. He is apparently not a fan of heated seats and prefers heated clothing. As a business man he offers it for customers that want it, like us. In my case I have a short commute to work in miles but spend lots of time sitting in line...

Heated seat question - especially Laam owners

The "some may like the idea of mounting on the dash...." is exactly why he doesn't automatically put it in the seat. Seth's reasoning on the single vs 3-way systems is that he finds the single's heat is warm but not too hot. On the 3-way he said he can't really feel heat on the low setting and...

Heated seat question - especially Laam owners

I just got off the phone with Seth and he cleared things up. When he says you can put the switch where you want that DOES include him putting it IN the seat or leaving it loose for you to mount how/where you wish. He also told me that he has 2 types of heaters. One is a simple on/off while the...

Split: Most miles in 24 hours?

TRUE DAT!! When I lived there I felt obliged to put decals on my car and a fire bottle inside before venturing onto I-285.

Split: Most miles in 24 hours?

I suspect TripperMike meant to put </sarcasm> at the end of his post.

Heated seat question - especially Laam owners

That's what I had assumed but apparently Laam just gives you the switch and says "mount it where you want it". That sounds fine in theory but "where I want it" doesn't mean there will be a decent way to put it there. The switch looks a bit deep. I'm trying to figure out the exact dimensions to...

Heated seat question - especially Laam owners

I had planned to have Seth add the heater to my seat since I commute to work year round. A pants liner would obviously be warmer but changing clothes at work every day would be a problem and a heated seat would always be available. Now the more I think about it the less I like the idea. My...

New HeliBar design - anyone using? Comments?

Yeah, parking lot speed is the only time I even notice and it didn't take more than a couple of times to get used to turning at "almost" full lock to the left. The added comfort of sitting a bit more upright and the more relaxed reach to the bars much more than compensate. I could have used a...
