Has the gel caused you any problem? I see that, hear in the US at least, the gel is an option. I've had gel in a seat before and it was very hot in the summer sun. Not fun to get on in the afternoon. Less then $500 for the set on E-Bay is incredibly inexpensive. If only there were a way to try...

Small side track: Twice now Ive called AAA for the FJR, and twice theyve shown up unprepared to tow a motorcycle. $40 Canyon Dancer too much investment I guess. My most recent battery is a Shorai lithium iron. Unbelievably small, light, and powerful all nice for something so high above CG.

It's a battery. If it's an expensive battery, it's still $200. Small, small price to be sure of reliability.

If you mount at home, the GT sidewalls are very, very stiff, and getting the beads together is very difficult.

No new word from the dealer today, doubt I'll hear more until next week. Regardless of how this works out, I will update on what exactly has gone wrong, and where on the harness the problem occurred.
