    Plastic Fastener Replacement

These work! Thanks for the sample. When I started farkling my wife's new bike (< 60 miles!), one of the fasteners on the battery cover was missing. Your sample had arrived the day before. Sorry I didn't say "Thanks" sooner.

Best route creation software - by far

Ed, Once I've selected way points and routes for a trip, how can I email them to someone? I see you show how to share while on the road but I did a search on "email" and did not find how to share via email.

Best route creation software - by far

From the tutorial: "Use Garmin Express to update both the map in BaseCamp AND the map in your GPS to the latest version. For new map update installations, there is an option under the link "Advanced Options" that allows you to update both maps at the same time. If you do not select this option...

Best route creation software - by far

Patient! That's the catch. When the Good Lord was handing out patience, there was one person in line ahead of me and I couldn't wait. I did get enough from the Agenda to be able to plan my trip from home to BC, taking the roads I wanted by adding "I" waypoints. Dragging did not work that well...

Best route creation software - by far

I fought my way half way through the Agenda. In the middle of the first example, threw up my hands in disgust. Even with two displays, one for BaseCamp and one for Agenda, it was a slog. I agree with the point above -- pick a start point and an end point, let it figure a route, then tweak it...

What did you do to your FJR today?

Installed MotoLights taken from my BMW on my FJR. Yesterday I installed a set on Theresa's bike. I did take a photo of my bike with the lights on but, after reading instructions on how to post photos, decided to have a beer instead.

    Road to Bodie CA

    Can't argue with that!

    Road to Bodie CA

The last time we were there, three of the 20 or so Harleys in the parking lot had parts shaken off them! The guys were looking for wrenches and duck tape.

    2015 FJR1300A -- Inverted Forks?

So was the inverted fork required for the ESA? I'm surprised that the reduction of unsprung weight did not drive them to go inverted for all models. Since Theresa rarely changed the settings on the K1200GT, we thought that not having the ESA would not be an issue, but did not realize that the A...

    2015 FJR1300A -- Inverted Forks?

Installing MotoLights on our bikes and just noticed that the A has standard forks and the ES inverted forks. Makes quite a difference on the installation. No, I don't think the shop swapped out old forks. Just surprised to see the difference on the same model year. Any ideas why this is? Yes, I...

Cruise Control Not Working- 2014 A

Good to know. My CC started dropping out a couple of days ago. Cruising along on a smooth road, then bang, no power. No bump in the road and I had my foot off the brake pedal. Happened four or five times. Wife was riding behind me an confirmed that the brake light did not come on. Not a happy...

    Givi SR357 Fit

Since I am ending up with shorter spacers than the stock Givi ones, the Givi bolts are long enough for both our bikes. What I find interesting is that, with the odd spacer sizes, both of our mounts ended up being square to the bike frame (in two dimensions), at least to the precision I can read...

    Givi SR357 Fit

Not surprising that the spacers for Theresa's bike are not the same. Her two front spacers are the same height (mine were different by 0.030"1), and slightly shorter than mine. The mount still clears the rear tupperware but sits a bit lower than mine. Ordering the machined spacers but now it's...

    Good time to buy CarbTune

With the pound "pounded" down, it's a good time to buy from Morgan. $86 for the Pro 4.

    Givi SR357 Fit

For those of you with mounts that fit well, where did you buy your mounts? I bought from motostorm.it as recommended in some threads here. I've continued the study. If I tighten only one (the left) of the two front bolts in the rear triangle (so that the mounting plate is flush with the...

    Givi SR357 Fit

How soon we forget! I thought Theresa's Givi mount was a good fit. But then I snugged up the front two bolts at the rear, the ones with the longer spacers. Like magic, the front of the mount lifted up from the bike frame about 0.374" to 0.391". (Hard to get a caliper in there to make the...

    Givi Trunk Relocation Plate

Hmm. after reading this, I may look at a way to move my case forward. Moving the case forward should reduce the load on the sub-frame and give a better weight distribution. Theresa has her own bike, however she sometimes rides a short distance with me coming back from dinner so I'll see how much...

    Givi SR357 Fit

Well, I tried one end (front) first, then the other (back), and the (mis)fit was the same. What is the correct way of putting the frame down to get it to fit without shimming? Unlike my mount, Theresa's does not have a twist in it but it does require a 0.137" shim at the rear-most mounting...

    Givi Trunk Relocation Plate

Why not get her her own bike? It worked for me. Lots more storage space with two bikes as well. Since she's been on her own two wheels, she never tells me to slow down.
