That seems like a lot of work to document all that stuff and then re-check it after getting the bike back. But I agree it's a good idea. I could tell horror stories too. Almost seems it would be easier to learn how to fix it yourself. Unless it's a major overhaul, etc.

I use Cadkey for 2D work. Fairly easy to use and not too spendy, yet has enough features to be considered a professional grade product.

For me, if it's just a knife, then any of the name brands suffice if I like their features, and that gets subjective. For traveling/camping trips, where the knife sometimes needs to be something else, then I like the Wave by Leatherman. It has a nice balance of features without being too...
