I'm happy to report (twice ;) ) that Fred is right. As of this past weekend Bear Notch road is sublime, smooth, and very fast.... Sucks I'm going to miss this ride but I scratched the itch this weekend pretty good so that should hold me for a little while anyway. The 100 degree ride home...

An interesting thing to do on day 3 would be to take the ferry across Lake Champlain from Port Kent, NY to Burlington VT and have lunch. It would break up the ride a little bit but would be a way to cool off and enjoy the pedestrian mall right up the street from the ferry terminal. Or you...
