    Seat Advice

You can step up to the plate now with your wallet in hand and just get a Russel (or a Mayer, or one of the QUALITY custom seats), though I've had a few and yeah, the Russel is the ugliest and best for my ***. There is no one fit's all, but I think Russell fits or has satisfied the broadest...

    So what's the best battery?

OK, well I walked out to the barn for something else and saw the "Ding, battery is done" light on the Battery tender so of course I had to swap it and try it. Results are similar, only elevated a couple volts. 14.1 at the RR at idle, 13.5-6 at the battery, at RPM I saw up to 14.45 at the RR...

    So what's the best battery?

Thanks for the confirmation Fred. That will be my next move. I'll let that battery charge over night and with some luck get it installed tomorrow and re-test. I don't think a .5 volt drop is acceptable. But I'd live with a .2v drop if I had a solid 13.9 at the battery with some farkles on...

    So what's the best battery?

OK, proper stator testing (I believe) is unplugged. Unplugged, .1 to .2 ohms across all 3 legs. Voltage at idle is 24 volts and does change with RPM's so I think it's good to go, saw up to 90v. So, RR? or Bypass harness or both? Or repeat tests with other battery?

    So what's the best battery?

OK here goes: FJR Charging System Troubleshooting. Freshly charged Shorai battery (overnight on Tender), After removing tender Daytel said it was a 16.8 volts. As soon as I turn on the key and put any load on it that vanishes down to ~14 volts, it's pretty much always been that way. Back...

what is suppose to be on the handlebar end if you have heated grips ?

I think it depends on the grips. Some 3rd party grips aren't open on the ends... Some are, I picked a set that was so that I could keep my throttlemeister bar-end goodness.

    So what's the best battery?

OK, I will run some more tests tonight, I will also pick up another new battery on the way home. But my Shorai is only 5mos old. But it's been depleted once, dead-dead, by leaving the GPS on for a week. I will steal some office supplies to back probe those connectors. I couldn't do it...

    So what's the best battery?

Alright, so I'm at a loss as to how to test these voltages (RR/Stator) while connected. But if 15.5 while disconnected is what's expected and I'm taking from your post ion that it is. Then I just need jack's bypass harness that I ordered with the RR to bypass the factory wiring harness to the...

    So what's the best battery?

Ok, back on topic, which is my busted *** charging system. At idle, I have 15.5 volts coming out of the RR (while disconnected). That's to be expected yes? So like DCarver I'm losing it somewhere, back to his thread to try and understand what is fix was. After reviewing his thread, it...

    So what's the best battery?

I'm a little time compressed at the moment, so the spares have been ordered. I can't afford to get a couple days into this, decide I do need a stator or RR and then have to wait for one. I'm OK with this Time/Moneywise. I tend to hold onto spares. So if I don't have a need for the parts...

    So what's the best battery?

OK, Will do some testing tonight or tomorrow and post up what I find. I really hope this is a dirty connector, but I've premptively ordered spares just in case.

    So what's the best battery?

OK, I'll verify numbers tonight. I'm 99% sure the daytel aint lying. I have a new meter that will be here today. My Fluke 75 finally died, portions of the LCD are gone. The only other meter I have doesn't scale well. I already ordered the R/R premptively from https://roadstercycle.com/...

    So what's the best battery?

OK, so this morning I'm at 13.2v on the daytel at idle, the best I saw on the commute in was 13.5-13.6, but mostly 13.5 with my V1 as my only farkle running, no Clearwater lights no nothing. So is the consensus that my wiring to/from the RR is fubar, or should I just replace the damn thing...

    So what's the best battery?

So which parts are most suspect: Rectifier & Regulator Assy 1D7-81960-01-00 $152.93 Stator Assy 3P6-81410-00-00 $286.85 There's an 07 Stator on ebay, but I'm a tad skeptical of used electrical parts... Or I guess what should my troubleshooting steps be? -MD

    So what's the best battery?

Well for a baseline, I have never, since new, though I didn't put the Daytel on it until 2007, have I ever seen 14volts while riding, ever. Datel is tapped into my Battery Tender lead at the battery where it connects. On the highway with next to nothing on, (GPS/Daytel/Glenda's), I see 13.8...

    So what's the best battery?

This wire situation is new to me... Is there a thread here that shows me exactly what to replace? My understanding (and it could be flawed) is that the Gen II puts out 560 watts, the bike needs 300 to run (stock), giving me 260 to play with. By my math: Gerbings Gloves 30 Watts Gerbings...

    So what's the best battery?

I used up the factory battery, replaced with a Westco, got 3 years out of that. Opted for the Shorai, battery, and it's NOT the ****. I completely depleted it with my heated gear during the MD2020 Gerbings Jacket, Plus gloves. Only other things sucking power: Glenda Lights (minimal), Radar...

    MD2020

Perry, I felt so bad for you when we were riding through Ohio about the same time, and then all morning Sunday. I depleted my battery Sunday morning running my liner and gloves on high. Came back from that bonus south of Pittsburgh and my battery read 8.2 volts. Luckily we were at the top of...

So I need the saddlebag lock catch thingy

Super awesome, I'm back in business. Thanks for the reminder El Toro Joe. I was able to locate said lock, use the screws which are now slotted thanks via the power of dremel, but they aren't ever coming out again. Loctited good. It appears I never did that previously. If you haven't done...
