HD brings XR1200 Sportster to US

I like. Hmmmm......I have to figure which one would have to go, the Ural, the Yamaha, or the wife. All 3 can't exist at my house and there be peace. But at $11,179 and only 750 to sell thats makes my decision a little easier.

    Pulling left

No guts no glory! Now I'll have to go riding tonight to clear my head..."What was Mr. Wheaton going to say?"

    Pulling left

Maybe its been done but check the suspension to make sure they are equally adjusted. Also I had "slightly" bent inner fork that caused the same problem but it wasn't as severe. If I removed my hands it wanted to slowly go left. It was better when I loosened the the upper and lower brackets...

    OK Midwesterners--Who Rode Today

21 degrees last night coming into work. Its about 16 now but I'm working a double so it'll be pleasantly warm around 30 for the ride home. Almost there. Just a few degrees cooler :yahoo:

    Dropped this top-heavy PITA today

Almost drop mine going into work the other day. They have these blinds (flat metal plates that go into pipes to stop flow for safety) laid out for motorcyclist to put thier kickstands on in hot weather. The only thing about it is that they slide if you stop on them or even set your foot down...

    OK Midwesterners--Who Rode Today

Actually I was on the FJR. I feel safer on that honestly. Anitlock brakes, wider tires, superior stopping and speed and handling (makes one wonder why buy the Ural). Today will be the first day the Ural has been out since Saturday. The Ural I take for granted being stared at. So tell me, if...

    OK Midwesterners--Who Rode Today

Still going for my record. Only down to 25 last night on the way home. I'll get there but I'm riding everyday dammit. I do get tired of being stared at. Geez people, live and let live. :glare:

What year(s) did BMW produce the FJR1300?

Hmmm. I always wanted one but it only came in that crappy silver. Maybe I might just buy it and have Garauld to paint it for me. He did a fantastic job on my sidecase! :clapping:

How did you learn to ride?

A 78 honda hawk CB400 hondamatic. Summer of 1984 a Marine Corps buddy told me to hop on and and give it a try and I promptly ran right into the back of a car. Tough bike, no damage and he sold it to me later. I kept it about a year and then sold it. No bike of my own until I bought my FJR...

It's not you get any respect on the road out there. I'm surprised it's that high. It takes alot to ride a motorcycle on today roads.

    lifetime fitness parking lot

I saw what I think was an AE tonight in the parking lot around 8pm. They arrived before me and left after me. Ok I slacked off and I only worked out for 45 minutes. I had to go to work. Anyway was it anyone from here?

Dec 7th, Chicago Toys for Tots

I say we use the same meeting place as Ridercoach Lar proposed last year. The Dennys just off the Tri-state on 95th street. I'm already taking a vacation day (saved my last day for this) so I'll be there. Last year I was at the Dan Ryan Woods at 7:30 and was pretty close to the front. The...
