    Arm Chair LD Rallies

I don't think your missing anything. If you've never done a rally its going to be real hard to get excited about routing. I know before my first rally I had the same outlook. I did my first rally using a paper map and index cards. Had a blast but finished way down in the standings. I don't think...

    Talk about a ride report

Back to the race....Josse had a wave knock him over and now has damage to his boat!!! Just how much isn't certain, but he's heading North at a much slower pace 6 knots, while Desjoyeaux and Jourdain continue to pile on the miles at over 15 knots... Sounds like Josse may have some rudder damage.

Got to ride on Christmas Day!

Well she does cook a mean Christmas dinner.... and also has a large, well equipped, heated garage I use for the FJR tear down/preventative maintenance work. :)

Got to ride on Christmas Day!

I managed to get a few miles in on Christmas. My wife told me the roads were too bad to be riding but I didn't think so. It was about 20 degrees above and the main roads were mostly clear. I think I've discovered one of the FJR's limitations. The street to my mother-in-laws house climbs a...

    Talk about a ride report

No ****! That could have turned out much worse. Amazing how close the top 4 boat are together after 44 days.

    Talk about a ride report

Looks like they're about halfway through the race and down to 18 boats. Desjoyeaux is having a good run.

    Warchild, dougc, Ignacio, SkooterG......

I received my copy on Friday. I'm so thankful Dean put together this excellent film to document some of the IBR history. It was very informative and entertaining. The interview with Mike alone was worth the price. Now all we need is the book version.

    OK Midwesterners--Who Rode Today

Lutsen's making snow so you should be good. Snocross was held at Spirit last weekend and they were able to make more than enough snow. Still have good roads in Duluth. Rode in this morning. 10 above and its down to just 2 bikes where I work. The other fool say's he's going to ride longer than...

    OK Midwesterners--Who Rode Today

Most of the snow is gone so I was able to ride this morning. 11 degrees made the ride a bit brisk. Tomorrow's forecast calls for snow so it looks like I'll have to take the truck. Anyone else in the MIDWEST still able to ride?

    OK Midwesterners--Who Rode Today

It was only a matter of time. Today was the first day I couldn't ride the bike to work. Just too much snow/ice on the roads after the snow we had on Turkey Day. Hoping it's all melted by next week.

    OK Midwesterners--Who Rode Today

Ah yes, Young and Stupid. In August of 1984 I was riding my Seca 900 from Tucson to Florida via the Colorado Rocky's. I stayed too late at a friends in Beaver Creek shooting the ****, and by the time I got on I-70 it was nearly midnight. Wearing only jeans and a thin nylon Purolator jacket I...

    OK Midwesterners--Who Rode Today

I know I can't be the only one that rode today. 15 degrees on the ride in, but it should be in the high 20's for the ride home. The fingers and forehead were a little chilly by the time I got to work. Other than that and some fogging issues it wasn't bad. This was on a KLR and I haven't...

    Steal Deal (IMO) Garmin 2730

I just went through this on Wednesday. When I called to get the update they didn't ask where I purchased. They told me the Garmin line is the mapset provided is that which is current at the time the unit is discontinued. The 2730 was discontinued in 2007 so is not eligible for the free upgrade...

    HID failing

This morning on the commute to work my low beam HID lumen output was substantially reduced. That and the color was noticeably more yellow. Question for those familiar with HID's. Is this indicative of a bulb, ballast, or igniter failure? These were purchased in the original Chinese HID buy in...
