Good information here. Definitely concerned about the shock maintenance on the ES model. 250 riding solo - loaded with gear can put a lot of strain on a shock. My rebuilt Penske was the best thing for my 08'. Enjoying reading all of the feedback on which one to go with. Can say this, 2014...

Condolences for your loss of a friend and the family's loss. Endured a very identical scenario with a long life friend who was lost at 44yrs old. It's good to have had those last conversations; peace is good for the soul.
