Since you will be replacing the plugs every 16-17k save the money and use the regular plugs. Same spark for that period of time IMHO.

I have the Sena speakers placed in my helmet. I use regular plugs at times and switch to the Plug Fones when I want good sound for my trip. When I am just jumping around town I stay with the regular plugs as high fidelity doesn't matter that much.

I can offer my garage on Monday for the service. Only problem is I live in the Nashville area. If you changed routes it would put both of you in between final destinations. It happens to be one of the few Mondays I have off.

They are disposable tools. My company decided cheap tools are better than quality tools that require sterilization.

I rode in to work today. Nothing new as I ride to work 90% of the time. The car feels neglected!

I used my saddlemen bag on mine last year by strapping it to the FJR luggage rack. Had no problems with it riding out to the Grand Canyon and back.

Moving the feet around on the pegs helps. I also stand up from time to time to stretch the legs, get the blood flowing again. Last year I had the corbin seat which was a brick. This year I have a Lamm seat which is much better. As the others have said, hydration is a big part of long rides.

When I use ear phones I have the plug phones. Earplugs with built in earphones. They attenuate the noise by 25dB. Not as much as other earplugs but I get sound with them.

I wear Motoport stretch Kevlar pants with the Kevlar mesh jacket, alpine stars gortex boots, Olympia gortex gloves. The gloves change depending on the season! What is underneath varies also, lol.

I got 15k on my last set of Bridgestone GT T30s. Cost me 240 delivered from Jake Wilson and another 42 for mounting and balancing at a local motorcycle shop.

I commute on my FJR 40-100 miles a day when I work. It allows me to have fun going to work and decompress after work. I am not nearly as happy when I have to take the car to work.

I wear a Nolan N104, ear plugs and use a Sena 20. I get good sound with the plugs, much better than without like FJRLoonie! I was surprised at the sound quality using the Sena with ear plugs. Was using Plug fones with my Nexus 6 before which gave good sound and noise isolation.
