Hi ALL! Have wanted an FJR for a long time and ready to pull trigger, price check?

Congrats on the bike. It will supply many smiles for your delight. A new set of tires would be advisable. I put a set T30s on mine and the handling improved! I have 11K on this now with about 2-3K left on them. Happy with long life of the Bridgestones.

    Tail lights

I walked out of my motel this morning and did my walk around while warming up my bike. I noticed the left tail light was out. I picked up a pack of replacement bulbs when got home. I checked the lights again, same light was out. Replaced the left bulb and put the spare in the tool case. As I...

    Swing arm removal

so it is threaded into the bike! I used Mark Johnson's FJR site with his instructions and like the service manual it made no mention of it being threaded into the bike and to use a 19mm hex bit to remove it, Doh! Next week I shall tackle it again. Thank you for the help.

    Swing arm removal

OK I need some help here. Got up today to try and lube my swing arm. Researched the topic here and went to fjrtech for it. Had everything off, mufflers, rear wheel, foot pegs. Got to the 27 and 36mm nuts which were tough puppies to get off. Three foot cheater pipe required and I bent my rachet...

Ram X-Grip Security Option Available for tablets and smartphones

I got one for my Nexus 6 since I did loose it once. The smaller Xgrip I did not have problems with but the larger one for this phone does not feel as strong. Plus the Nexus 6 has the curved back preventing it from fitting flush adds to the problem. The grip does stretch over it in the protective...

    This Freakin' bike....

Mine is a Gen 1 and it is a blast! I have put 14000 miles on her this since I picked her up the end of Feb. I love the sound of the jet engine winding up and feeling the wind rush by. Yesterday I finally went WOT at 15mph and it pulled the front wheel up off the pavement. I ride with some...

    Sissybar bag

I finally upgraded to a Kappa top case so I am selling my Saddlemen BR3400EXS bag. It attaches to a sissy bar or straps to the seat. It used for 3 cross country trips. Other than those trips it spent most of its time in the house. It is in great shape. Price is $140 shipped in the lower 48 states.

    Bridgestone T30 GT Tire Review

I am at 9K on my T30s and should have another 3K left on them. I would take a picture to post but I no longer have a cell phone..... The T30s have been good so far and I would buy them again.

    Bump and fly

THe day after changing out the oil in the forks I was heading to Franklin for a meetup group ride. About 10 miles from the location the wonderful TDOT has chewed out the pavement on I65 for repairs. It dropped 3 inches and the suspension soaked it up nicely. As I was enjoying the music cruising...

    Fork Oil Change Made Easier

I just changed out the oil in my forks. Reading Pants write up on this was a big help. It was a nasty black oil that came out of the forks. Since the bike is new to me I have no idea how old the oil was. I used a entire quart of ATF to flush them. Tomorrow I shall take it for a test spin and see...

    Question about blue tooth headsets

I recently purchased plugfones for my rides. The sound is great and the noise reduction is rated at 25dB. The quality of sound is great and the wind noise is greatly reduced.

Upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10

I made the jump to Windows 10 and I like it so far. No more scrolling the screen to see what programs I have installed, just the good old start button and desktop! The browser is a nice upgrade also.

    Not gone

Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement. Life goes on and I can hope we work things out between us. I have a lot of healing to do from my childhood. Bringing up those items has been difficult for me. Keeping them buried was probably worse as I could be a pressure cooker trying to hold in...

Electronics (GPS) and Vibration on Bike

I would consider the connector going bad from the vibrations. It can loosen up the connection causing the problem. Had similar problem with a nexus 7, replaced the USB port in the unit and the problem was solved. Just another point of view on the subject.

    Not gone

I just want to let everyone know I have not disappeared from the forum. Still checking in from time to time to see what is happening with everyone. Riding has decreased somewhat for me since my wife moved out of the house. Yes it was rather sudden and took me by surprise. Seems like a lot of the...
